One thing that kinda pissed me off with the Buffyverse is you never really see Xander get any type of combat training outside of the Halloween episode where he gets possessed by the soldier persona/spirit. Buffy gets training from Giles, Willow gets guided in magic by multiple people on how to use magic, Xander gets handed a stake and told to use the pointy end essentially. Is it no wonder he kind of flailed his ways through battles at times, especially in the early years? Well I guess that is what fanfic is for.
I really like this video too! Xander may not be the best character but I do think he gets better as he goes along and confronts his insecurities before realising he can help just being himself, which you showed very well here.
I love his character. I had hoped to see more growth as the seasons kept coming, but ....theres just something about him stumbling along and not getting everything right that makes him more relatable.

He’s the heart of the group saved Buffy in season 1 and stop willow from being evil in season 6 and help dawn a lot
