Prime Alex was something special. His little jog evade still looks hillarious to this day - But if it's effective why not? This man took down both cormier and Jones while going to war with the rest of the divisions greats, it's sad to say but Gus was untapped potential in my opinion

The repeat uppercuts on Glover were just insane, let alone when he feinted an uppercut but came in with a straight because he'd been tagging Glover with it so regularly he instead switched it up. Why is this man still going for heavyweight when the two men he beat consecutively, Jan by UD, Glover by knockout, both have held the light heavyweight belt, the former first and now the latter? Been watching Gustafsson for a long time and during 2014-2017 he was one of the best light-heavyweights in the UFC. Most of his losses didn't come down to skill but just a lack of fight IQ. DC was able to mangle him with just a collar-tie and uppercuts, he really didn't know how to handle it. Against Smith he decided to go for a hip toss and got choked out. He was defending the takedown very well against Werdum but out of nowhere he stops and starts throwing punches and gets taken down and armbared.

Prime Gus is one of my favorite fighters of all time. Love this video! I think I didn't see the DC knockdown with the knee. That's one of the best moments of Gus career. It was amazing. If Gus ever fight Jones again. I hope he uses his knees on him!
Gus rise in the UFC was amazing to see. I think Gus vs Thiago Silva is my favorite fight. It was the first UFC Swedish card and his first main event. The Swedish fans was on their seat both in the Globe arena and at home. And Gus did more than well!
Gus looked better in the Jones fight than in the DC fight. Because of all the uppercuts and counters DC gave him. DC took less damage to the face too (except the knees).

Gustafsson the man was so underrated imo. Guy was the only one after jones in the LHW division who took DC to the limits and even almost finished him at one point in the fight. Also the only one to beat the hell out of prime jon jones. I loved the guy so much. He was clearly a Viking from the medieval age who stepped in a cage.
