I think I'd be cowering in terror if Diana Damrau sang at me with that much intensity too. The woman is a once in a generation talent and utterly flawless. She makes one of the hardest arias in the world look easy.

I just can’t with her. Do y’all see how she is running around the stage AND STILL has the support and ability to nail EVERY.SINGLE.NOTE. It’s astonishing! The amount of training that goes into making this look completely effortless is ridiculous. Opera singers can so often get caught up in the technique they forget to act and tell a story. Diana Damrau does not let you forget what is happening in this moment as she blows the audience away with her soaring vocals. Simply the best!

She's the only one I've seen who performs this piece with the intensity and anger written into the character. Almost all the others I've seen look like they're just happy to hit the high notes, as I would be. 🙂
