This song REALLY grew on me after a few listens, haha. It pops into my head all the time. Already pre-ordered the CD and vinyl. I wish I could get the box set but it says US residents only.

It's more polished and the mix is near perfect and can hear all the instruments.

Shows maturity in their songwriting also.
These guys are in their 40's now and they sound just as heavy as they did in 99.

They had me at the “Die” chant. I really like this song after several listens, but I’m not super hard to please. Definitely cool that everyone kind of has their moments in this one. Jay seems to stand out more than anyone to me though….just amazing stuff he’s doing. Thanks for doing back to back Slipknot videos, even though I’m sure someone will complain. 🤘✌️

Seriously I cant, the chorus of this song is stucked in my head, everytime im in the work the chorus starts to play in my head, btw that growl 05:06 is SO "I AM HATED" (you guys know what part of I am hated im talking about right?) I think besides SIC the verses reminds you the "Unsaited" at least it did with me
I personally think it's Type O time again, so i'd like to leave my recommendation: Haunted
Clown had an interview and said this album, he didn't even recognize Corey Taylor.
I too didn't recognize corey in the Rag song with the "We don't deny what is wrong with our life" and this song with the "DIE, DIE, DIE, YEAAAH" part, but I think these two song arnt the heaviest in the album those are only the first 2 songs, I have a very high expectation on the upcoming song 'Yen'
Jay's drumming is amazing on this, love V Man's little bass run as well. Basically it's a banger and the haters can do one. 'But it's not Iowa'. No it's not. Iowa is Iowa. If you want that then go listen to it. Bands evolve. If they stayed the same it would be bloody boring. Rant over, I love it and Lozza is a top bird. Now on with your day.😝
I hate when "fans" complain about Corey does soft vocals. Saying stuff like "why does he keep being melodic, the fans don't want that".
Some people don't understand that is literally impossible to do another album like Iowa. Corey destroyed his vocal cords when the band was recording Iowa.
PS:unpopular opinion: self-titled is more heavier than Iowa but Iowa is more darker

Definitely listen more to this album. It's really damn good.
This specific song really speaks to the times we live in, and people's general attitude towards it.
The sounds at the beginning and the end are actually from the music video, not the song audio itself. Slipknot themselves had posted the audio only version as well, but for some unknown reason, it's gone. A few channels reposted it, but most have been reposting the audio rip from the music video.
I was wondering about that. I couldn't find the audio for this on their channel.

These newer songs aren't grabbing me right away like most of the "WANYK" pre-release songs did. They're not bad, but maybe they'll just take a few more listens. Great reaction though!

This song has really grown on me as well, like others have commented. A great mix of "old" and "new" Slipknot. The unique song structure really grabbed my attention. (It was kind of odd hearing the intro audio without the visual reference from the video.) Im really liking the direction of the new album, so far ;) If you react to the video, I look forward to seeing your comments on Pinhead playing the keytar! :)

I watched an interview with jay a few months ago in which he talks about a particular curiosity about experimentation that is on this new album and that no one had ever heard or even thought about coming from slipknot, in this song you can already get an idea of what he was up to speaking, since My Pain I already expected them to " UP " a little in the instrumental, and let's be honest, slipknot can try anything, it will always have that slipknot characteristic.
this atmospheric sound reminded me of Enigma, Heilung , or even the soundtrack of The Revenant...

Album title is The End For Now. Which is the last album under Roadrunner Records. Next album should be under a new Record label

Does anyone else thinks that Corey sounds a little bit like Kurt Cobain at the beginning?
Old and new mixed to a solid piece of music. But, the more I listen to it the more I'm getting a bit annoyed by the singing (clean) parts. Seems like Corey uses the same melodylines more often. Musically and angry Corey-wise a nice banger.
I like this song a lot but I had to stop listening to it because it gives me mad anxiety over the current situation in eastern europe, I think that's what the song is about and it's depressing to be reminded about it

Jay needs to lose the pink eye shadow. It makes an otherwise great mask look dumb.
This song seemed generic to me. Like they took a few previous tracks, put it into a blender and this is what came out. Also, do they keep reusing the same rhythm in different songs or something. A lot of it is starting to sound too samey. Not a fan of the production/mixing either. I had mixed feelings on Chapeltown Rag, but this one made that look good. Also, maybe I'm in the minority, but I feel like Corey keeps hindering the band by pulling them into Butt Rock territory too often. Sorry to those that enjoy this, but meh.
They've always used melodic vocals in their songs.
@@taurusbull8276 Yes, but they used to be used more sparingly. Also, either Corey's singing style has drastically changed or the way he writes his hooks changed. Now most of his choruses sound very similar to one another.

great expetactions on this album, but based on this song, seems it will be just "another slipknot album", nothing much special and different. not a problem at all, but it's been this since the gray chapter, why? these 9 guys could be replaced by 4 guys and there would be no difference. kinda sad ;')

I think this is why I'm just not super excited about this band anymore. Everything they put out in more recent years is starting to blend together too much. It's getting a bit stale.
Its you opinion and that's totally fine but i seriously trying to understand how this song sound like any slipknot other songs, i mean when you had bass action in the latest album(only one I can think about is aov and my pain) and when they had a song with structure like that? Most of their songs are intro verse1 chorus verse2 chorus bridge and chorus. This song is different than songs that they released since gray chaper or even before that imo
None of their albums sound anything alike.

@@taurusbull8276 I started getting into slipknot in 2019 when wanyk just came out, and I could tell if a song was from ST, iowa, vol 3 or AHIG even if I was listening to it for the first time, because they have a very defined overall sound. songs from vol.5 and WANYK were the only ones I struggled with recognizing which album they were from, his voice was the only thing that gave me a clue.
I love those two albums by the way, but I understand if someone says that they have lost interest in what comes next when they see that the last two releases are too similar and seem to be going down a similar path.
