We are officially in MIAMI, FL for the winter months! 10 of us made the 12 hour drive to Florida for the new year to get away from the cold in Myrtle Beach. Not sure if some of you realize how amazing this is. Chimps by nature do not swim because they are too muscle heavy, they don't have enough fat on them to make them be able to swim, so that is why she said what she did. But that one chimp is absolutely loving this and he is so in love with her, you can tell by the way he looks at her and he acts with her. Truly lovely. Also the other chimp isn't afraid, if he wanted out of the water he is perfectly capable of pulling himself out. The thing about chimps is you will not "make" them do anything. They do it with willingness and out of trust.

I love these videos as it reminds me we are all connected emotionally and genetically. It is beautiful. I realise this as I watch them in the water together as it was like me and my dad used to go swimming when I was little. He'd always and still loves and protects me.x

We will never see that, because when that time comes we are on mars and they live on Earth in a ruined climate.
The thing is any animal can be dangerous, but so can any human.
And their not the problem its people that caused them to have live in these rehabilitation centres.
And that means there's always going to be human contact.
My first impression of your vocalizing and facial expressions used to engage Vali made me think of how a mom interacts with her children trying to coax them to play in the water if they are scared. They really are just like human children, you have great parenting skills! Thanks for the upload, this was a joy to watch.
It is a fact that talking like that actually grabs the babies attention and stimulates their brain so thats like the best way to talk to them. Normal conversation will be boring for them
I was enthralled with that video. It is beautiful to watch. The love between you all is so strong, you are all smiling the whole time. I've watched some nice videos of chimps, but this one just pulled me right into it. You are wonderful with them. They, and you, have a brilliant life together.
Thank you for sharing this video. In the beginning of it we got to see Angada as a little baby. I think 6 month's old. That was awesome. I loved seeing Vali and Sugriva swimming with Tawny. I loved it. I loved Vali's smiles. Thank you Moksha and Tawny. Loved it.

How old are they? They are a lot like human children.
@Jackie Treehorn Yes. The Chimps are from the same tribe as us (hominini). Their DNA is 98.8% identical to ours. Right now they're children. But, as they have the same development as us, they will soon become sexually mature (puberty/adolescence) and therefore the males will become dangerous, especially for the girl. (domination)

While this is a really cute video it’s important to remember that chimpanzees are very dangerous animals. They are stronger than humans and have been known to attack and eat other chimps even chimps in their own family group. Like humans, there are quite a few of them that are murderous and violent. However I do love them and think they are incredible creatures that should absolutely be protected. It’s just important to remember what some of them are capable of for the safety of humans.

Absolutely agree. While this is cute n all, it’s very misleading. By comparison, Chimps in their natural habitat struggle daily against competition simply to survive. Normally chimps wouldn’t have access to heated swimming pools where they can readily see the bottom or have food handed directly to them. In the wild their survival often depends on their willingness & ability to defend themselves, tooth & claw.

It seems your view is that the word "wild" implies that they can turn on you in an instant. Wild means, they live in the wild. We are supposed to be the intelligent apex species, yet we show more anger and real wild behaviour than any other animal on the planet.

You notice how he never uses his teeth when he mouths her? He curls his lips around his teeth so not to hurt her. ❤️ He loves her.
If you look closely you will notice that the chimp has in-fact had his teeth removed so he couldnt bite even if he wanted too

This is just SOOOO absolutely AWESOME! I could NOT stop smiling ear to ear the entire time I watched this video!! I have always wished to interact with primates so, sooo much! Just seeing his massive smile and nonstop laughter just melts my heart! This truely is just amazing and wonderful.. and oh my goodness, his brother in the back ground doing the wall crawl practically the entire time.. had me cracking up!! Everytime I'd see him pass y'all by, grasping on to that wall and doing his own little thing. So awesome, Keep up your amazing work with these amazing beings!
