Miss Lori, for those of us that are older, widowed, alone ...the sound of family life at your homestead is wonderful. I am so glad your family and your grandchildren are nearby. Teach them to live simple, sustainable lives, and thank you for taking us along. Blessings to you and yours.

Love homemade bread. I’ve had a bread machine in the past, but it quit on me years ago. I haven’t had one for years, but inherited one from my daughter recently because I don’t think she knew the intricacies of some of the do’s and don’ts. She gave up on it and we traded out things. I have been watching your show for at least a year now and just got around to subscribing.(had to create and account on RUclips which I did recently) Love watching the different recipes you’ve done so far. Love the sustainability that you have created as well as y’alls Christian values. I once was lived in TX but now live in FL (due to husband’s naval career bringing us here). We are retired now and just enjoying life, but stay extremely busy even though we are retired. Take care and God Bless what 😊you do.

Wow I love all of these pictures especially the old truck and the milk in glass gallon jars. If mom didn’t have enough cream for the big churn, she would have us to rock the jars back and forth while we watched TV. Your beautiful photos bring back so many wonderful memories. God bless and protect you and your family. I love watching your beautiful videos from Marshall, NC

I always use my bread machine to knead and rise the dough, but then take it out, shape it, and bake it in the oven. Every once in a while I bake it in the machine, but I like the result better from the oven.

I love how sustainable you two have made your lives. That starter is wonderful…no yeast…no problem…and I’m sure is tastier and better for you. I had a bread machine years ago and so loved coming in from work on a cold day to a home that smelled like fresh bread. However…I used a mix back then. Your sourdough is next level…something that would go for a high price as “handcrafted” in an upscale bakery.

I just want to tell you this is now my regular bread recipe. I use it multiple times a week for my partner myself and my toddler with no complaints. I have however changed your method ever so slightly to create an overnight loaf! Thought I would share in case anyone else finds this useful!
All the ingredients and everything are the same. You still put them in and pop it on dough or knead cycle I do this about 1.5 hours before bed as that is my dough cycle, when that’s finished I select the regular bread cycle and set a timer so that it starts about 4 in the morning which gives it a nice few hours of bulk fermenting time so then when I get up at about 6 it’s ready to come out in a couple of minutes while I’m making coffee and I can put it in a rack to cool, by lunch time it’s cooled and made into lunch 🥰🥰

I do it a little different, but it all works. I mix and knead on the dough cycle. Stop the machine and ferment in same pan overnight. Next morning, I remove dough and paddle, shape, back in pan to proof 1 1/2 - 2 hours, then bake. I feel running it through the whole cycle the second time is unnecessary, but proofing is necessary before baking.

Miss Lori, I can't thank you enough for this video! I was totally amazed by the Bread Machine. I've never made Homemade Bread except my Biscuits n Cornbread. I honestly didn't know that a Bread Machine would Mix, n Knead your dough and then Bake it! I was like WOW! You're the only one I've ever watched make bread! I've never had anykind of Machine in my kitchen except a Microwave, a Handmixer n a Can Opener! Lol. I was raised very country and my Mama never had that stuff at all so I never bought that stuff either. Oh, I did have a Crockpot! Lol. I worked my whole life and come home to 9 people I had to cook and clean for so I grabbed my pots n pans n went to cooking, never thinking there was anything else I needed. Now that I have severe Neuropathy throughout my entire body, I can't even do that anymore. I can't hardly hold a glass without severe pain. I think if I had a Bread Machine, I might be able to make my own bread which would be amazing! I'm totally dependant on my daughter who has MS to cook n Help me. I might be able to help her bc she was talking about wanting some homemade bread! I know she don't know about them either. Thank you so so much for putting this video up. I sure do appreciate you very much! Thank you again. Love you n Mr Brown. GOD BLESS you both... 🙏🙏❤❤😁

I hope you try a bread machine, and it helps , I never had one till a few years ago, it helps with us busy people to get fresh bread daily, and in your circumstances it would help you too, xoxoxo
