Jerry Garcia never betrays. His concerts are always enthralling. A wonderful 16 minute version of "Sugaree". Italy loves JGB.
Sounds so great, stunning group
Stunning performances......Jerry's guitar tone is so gorgeous that I could cry....Wonderful
No one does it like Jerry!
25 years of JGB and they still never cease to amaze me. What a show - mind blown here.
Yup saw them first time 83 never forget 😎
Just missed this show by a couple months, I was kidnapped by the Unification church and brought to a ranch in the mountains where I found it almost impossible to escape. Long haired 18 yr old hippie just searchin the country for excitement and new experiances all the while "Truckin" was my quiet minds soundtrack. After constant protest I was allowed to leave the mountains where I discovered that JGB had just played the Keystone. BUMMMED! I continued my trek. Thank You & Keep on Truckin!
Moonies!! We stole flowers from them before
They almost got me too! They had that big house in Berkeley right?
Tremendous venue! Bartender yelling at everyone left in the place "Cmon it's 2am! Just drink em" perfect
I'm forever Grateful I got to live during these days. This "Twist of Fate" is so sweet!! & the "Tore Up" is the best I've ever heard! It's perfect & Jerry's voice & playing is spot-on. Name a band, any band, anywhere like these guys who entertained us for decades better than any incarnation of Jerry & his band of gypsys without fail, ya can't. Never a bad show. Always sold out, but a miracle still got u in, if not, the parking lot was still "there" 😎. Nearly all sets & all gigs are listed somewhere worldwide & still available to this day, to all, mainly because "tapers" were not only welcomed but had their own designated seating area. A place where fans either "sat on Jerry's or Phil's side." A place where u knew where to find friends. They sat in front, back, sides or ... @ all shows making it easy to find "show friends" to visit with. Great music, great vibe & so much more. ❤❤ thank you!
This is the night I was born. Love it
yah, me too.
Me too!!!

What quality thank you Jerry.
Beautiful
That version of Mystery Train is amazing
+mb1a1 Check out the version on Meryl Saunders & friends with Grissman & Vasser
Always a hoot!
Jerry's guitar was so good. This was the beginning of his best years imo. Thru about 1991.
I agree with the latter half of your statement, but i think his “best days” started much earlier. Comes down to personal taste of course. The raw, heavy garage-rock psychedelia of 69…the jazzy, subdued playing of 73…what a beautiful thing to have so many highlights to choose from.
May i suggest checking out the 2/23/74 Eyes of the World? You can start even earlier and listen to the whole jam suite of:
He’s Gone > Truckin > The Other One > Eyes of the World, but Eyes is the true standout. Not sure how else to describe his guitar playing on that Eyes besides, he’s skating all over that song. It sounds effortless, like water cascading downhill. It’s my favorite version of a top-5 Jerry song.
Might be the best sugaree ever.love when they slow down the tempo, and jerry just rips your heart out and melts the face
I think the acid may have had something to do with your face melting, just a hunch :)
Like living in a cloud..Impossible to define, but absolutely tangible. At least to people who like licorice!!
I guess the 2hr time scares people away... fantastic show. Great set list.
R.I.P. Jerry
2 hours is only scaring me away if I’m hoping for something longer 😅
LOVELY! THANKS SO MUCH! NFA!
Great quality. I saw these show back in 75 and 76 at the Keystone in Berkely. Jerry overpowered the place. He liked to work constantly.
I was going to Berkeley high school West campus and used to make fun of the deadheads!!!
00:18:20 Stop That Train
Has many highlights. Human warmth shines from every musical note played.
00:22:40 Tenderly played. Gorgeous chill vibe. 00:25:42 Fantastic keys! The whole band is fully into it. 00:28:49 Sounds like Caribbean Paradise.
From one train to the other:
00:33:42 Mystery Train (Has great punch to it)
00:43:04 Simple Twist Of Fate (So dreamy!)
00:54:20 The Way You Do The Things You Do
(Makes very happy! Just listen to this: 00:59:15 What a groove! Many surprising wow moments)
01:04:40 They Love Each Other
01:12:15 Sitting In Limbo
01:26:01 Tore Up Over You
01:37:48 My Sisters And Brothers (very gentle & warm)
01:47:33 Stir It Up
01:59:24 Tangled Up In Blue
...with much gratitude...this one is beautiful..

great sound quality on this show, not to mention great tunes and playing. always liked J.G.B. over the Dead maybe cuz it was more Jerry and a little less of Bob's cheese lol jk don't get offended now Bob lovers this one had me with the killer Sugaree but after the two train tunes are no letdown especially Mystery a little of everything here some reggae with Stir It Up i'd give this one a 5 out of 5 as far as song selection + sound Thanks for the upload dude killer show

I had a few free meals courtesy of trolling Moonies, back when I was young and wandering, Good meals! Sang some songs. Lots of nice folks, but their leaders were obviously predators. No Effin Way was I going off to the weekend camp with them.
this is so fucking badass
Do you know what they are talking about when they say "break them up" between songs? For example, between Stir It Up and Tangled Up in Blue.
not a better start to today!
05/28/2021 "nognuisagoodgnu" shared this show but he say: 07/23/1977 Palo Alto's Keyston?????
This is my favorite picture of Jerry - anyone know if there is a print of this out there somewhere?
Mitchell Turow I'd love to turn this into a mural!
I have several poses of Jerry in my mind... Wanna go for a ride??
who is singing female backup vocals please? Donna? who?
Sure sounds like Donna Godchaux to me and she was in it til 78, so I'd say it is her.
And again @128:00.....wow.
Whoaduderitious has the best collection the you tube channel is an archive in itself nice job you are officially the shit
yee
39:51...........Jerry 'comes correct'.
Where is Jerry's statue anyway; bet he looks just like this!
Ah...
Ron Tutt on drums?
Sure sounds like it, my favorite JGB drummer.
Is that Keith on the keys or Merl?
Keith. He even uses that chessy (imo) keyboard that you here on Row Jimmy and Lazy Lightning from this same Dead era.
Greg Dalbey Thanx Greg! Keith was my favorite as he was on keys during my favorite Dead era (1971-1974). His melodic style added a soft, refined "classical" touch to that period's music. Interestingly, Vince's playing resembled this towards the end of the Dead. Just listen to the very last show (7/9/95). Vince's playing that night was beautiful.
I can dig it. My ol' buddy Rich was at the Keystone. I say keep pickin' it seems to help the woes. I miss travelin' with the band... Reality is SO over rated
seriously? kidnapped?
