- I have only been in the Philippines for a short time period so I don't understand the culture but I am experiencing a rash of younger ladies showing interest in this single foreigner. This video tells of my initial experiences on this subject and you might be surprised by what I have found out in such a short time period. Does age matter in a relationship here in the Philippines? Thanks for the video. I'm in my eighties. They used to call old guys who picked up younger girls "crib robbers". I'm a little confused. You asked for our opinions but then you said you don't care what we think. Anyway, when I was single, I didn't date women younger than 10 years. I act my age, I treat younger girls as daughters and help them in life. Women are not sex toys. When they see you treat them with respect, they appreciate it and value themselves more. They strive to be better and learn to avoid sex monsters. It's great to be a Father either by blood or by love alone.
You are doing it right. I think Kirk as a father himself needs to seriously ask this question- would I be okay with my daughter marrying a dude my age or having a son-in-law older than myself? If the answer is "no", then he shouldn't be subjecting other people's daughters to it either. If the answer is "yes", then it's time for the daughter to start asking herself- what kind of man is my father that he's okay with me being in relationships with men that have a very high likelihood of a power imbalance in the man's favor?

When I went there when I was 9 and 12. I was being hit on by 17-20 year old girls which creeped me the hell out at the time but I guess that was normal?... I probably almost got groomed. The thing is, it's an age difference but its mainly an economic difference. Its exploitation pure and simple. Why would a 20 yr old want to be with a 60 yr old? Would they look to be with a local 60 yr old? Of course not. Never. Because no rich older man from their country would date them. And they DO see age, just older= easy prey, more cash, more lonely, more desperate.
A lot of Filipinas are single moms from a very young age, 14+. The father's of their babies usually disappear before the babies born leaving the girls impoverished family with another mouth to feed and it's usually the end of her education chances also. Her prospects are usually nil after that because no Filipino guy will marry her and take care of someone else's kid so she ends up a single mum living at home with no life. The prospect of an older father figure to rescue her and her kid is wonderful for her and her family even if she's 19 and the man is 60+. He removed the burden on the family and lifts her out of poverty and gives her a life. Trying to pick up a younger girl in college with prospects in life is a totally different story here for an older guy. Most aren't interested in foreigners

A friend of mine I backpacked through Thailand @ lao with married a beautiful Philippines lady. She's just wonderful @ they now have 11 year old daughter @ very happy. The rather large age gap was never a problem. I did similar with Thailand lady. I still get the "look" but don't let it bother me. 12 years of happy 😊. I call that a successful life.

Things cost about twice as much in Philippines than in China. That is what i have figured out. So if you can live in China, you can live very well except the female companion part, which costs quite a bit.

Been there twice coming out for a third time and I’ll be meeting up with a 32-year-old female. The previous one I met was 35. They both have bachelors degrees they both average around 25 to 30,000 pesos a month. They didn’t need anything from me. The sad truth is when they get in their 30s. I think a range of around 15 years is a decent cut off line, but anything beyond that starts to give off cradle robber vibes of "dude, you were already a grown-ass adult when your partner was just born".

My Thai wife of 13 years now was a 19 year old university intern when I met her working here in Thailand. I married her at 20 and I was 50. We couldn’t be happier and expecting our first child in July after years of doctors telling her she couldn’t conceive. At 64 would I date a 20 year old now if I were single though? No I would not. Would not have the energy for that ride! But if you do go for it. Why not? You’ll get to see the world anew through her young eyes like I did and still do!. And yes she will genuinely love you if you treat her well. Don’t let any of these fools tell you otherwise Just better be able to afford it. Still cheaper than any American woman though and you’ll be treated so much better. And you will be helping her family and you should if you’re taking her out of the workforce to be with you full time. Just the culture. Most Thai females don't like western males, those who do are mostly for the money or chance to live in a foreign country. Each year millions of western men visit Thailand but most Thai females don't take a look at western men on the streets, this is why western men have to find "working females" in bars.

Filipino people are very friendly. I have relatives from that part of the world and I love them. I'm not Filipino but I also think the Filipinas are beautiful. Liking young girls is not a crime (as long as you're not abusing them). But please do not bad mouth the women of mature years. If you bother to look around , you'll see nowadays, the older generation , which yourself is one, is generally living a happy and healthy lifestyle. Older women are not "old hags". In Canada and many parts of the world there are clubs for people 55 and over. Let me tell you what activities are offered from these clubs. Exercise, dancing , parties and trips to all parts of the world and many more things to do. These "old hags" are not looking for men like you. They want to live their lives with dignity. They love being single because they do not have to answer to anyone. Someone should make a documentary about this group of people. I use the word people here because there are older men as well. I have a Chinese partner and we went back to China last year to see her family, she hadn't been back for years, I loved the place and they were all so kind to me but I can tell you, I also don't speak Chinese and if I did not have my partner there to guide me, I would have been screwed, so, I totally get why Kirk want's to be somewhere, so as he can understand, I would choose Thailand any day over the Phillipines and he may do that yet, once he has been there, but each to their own

The basic requirement of hotel accommodation in this part of the world is (for me) responsive air-conditioning. All else is secondary. A clean comfortable bed is next (preferably with strong springs!). Beyond these considerations the rest doesn't natter all that much, but one should expect to fulfill these two basic conditions for no more than $20 US.
As far as age difference is concerned, as long as the females are old enough, and cognizant enough, then It is a private relationship/understanding between the two and not really anyone else's business. Never been to Philippines but always liked San Miguel brews when in HK. Good luck to you

Kirk, enjoy your exploration but really watch out on the streets. Walking and talking with a camera isnt really a good idea as you are catching lot of attention. Kidnapping is very real in the Philippines, especially if you are a foreigner. I hope you already know that.

May be the areas you visited are safer but absolutely not all areas in Phillipines. Even my Phillipino friends warned me the same when I traveled to Manila
