Thia has to be one of the best instructional videos on RUclips. Clear visuals and verbal instructions. 10/10 will watch again when I bind my next quilt because I will inevitably forget lol
This is the best video on attaching binding, and I've watched lots of them. I watch it every time I do my binding as a refresher. Thanks for being so clear with your directions.
Out of all the quilting videos that I've watched on RUclips this week, gotta tell u that your video is the most comprehensive I've seen. I can actually understand what you're saying and doing! lol My first time sewing a quilt. Thank you for posting your videos. It helps me so much, I appreciate it. :)
I just wanted to let you know that I believe you are truly one of the best people that i have seen here on you tube that really explain your techniques the best. Your tutorials are easy and clear to understand.
I have been quilting for 7 years now but still like to watch this before I bind just as a refresher. I have been following you for YEARS now. And I still have not found a better sewing teacher. Your style is amazing and I miss your regular videos!
This is the best tutorial on the internet! I did this in high school, but couldn’t remember the details of it after picking quilting back up after a few years. You explained everything perfectly and exactly how I remember! Had to sift through a lot of videos before I found this prefect, straight to the point one. Great job!
I'm a 70 year old newbie at quilt making and because of you I'm finishing my first little quilt. I can't tell you how much your tutorials have helped me. I have some errors but that was before I found you. Thank you sooooooo much.
OH MY GOD! YES!!!!! This is sooooooo easy!!! The last step where you attach the two ends has confused me so much from watching other videos, and your way is so easy!!! Thank you!!!
I love the way you explained the little details and the video helps big time. I do sew but I have never sewn a binding onto a wallhanding before. I've viewed many written and visual things pertaining to this subject and I must say that you were the easiest teacher to understand and actually do my project as you went along......continue to keep to simplified and easy with your instructions that you provide.....thanks!!
I am a beginner quilter, this is by far the best video that I have seen on how to make and attach your quilt binding. Thank you so much for the step by step instructions and close up video.
Thank you so much for all your help. At the age of 57 I've dusted of my sewing machine and just finished my first quilt and I couldn't have done it without your tutorials. I shall be tuning in for more help in future projects.
Thank you for such clear and easy to follow instructions. I was dreading binding a queen size quilt I made. With your instructions it turned out perfectly!
Your way of describing how to finish a quilt is absolutely perfect. I had not made a quilt in a number of years and had forgotten how to do the binding. The finishing of a quilt is, I think, the trickiest part of your creation, but you made it all make sense. Thanks so much. I will be referring my beginner friends to your RUclips page. Thank you, TheCraftyGemini!
I feel like I've watched everyone and I was more confused. Then I remembered you. I learned a lot from you. I love how you explain each step. Thank you for making me feel more confident because of you.
Wonderful tute!! I spent hours searching for one that I could understand and see clearly. Wonderful instructions, voice vol. everything and especially thank you for repeating important information as in the miter corners etc. Excellent teacher. Thank you so much.
Once again I’m doing a refresher because I’ve been doing Textile Picture Art (for canvassing) and now back to finish four quilts from years passed. 😊 The best Binding Tutorial. Thank you Vanessa for the 12 years (Wonderful years) I have been following you for clear and concise tutorials. Happy New Year 2023 😊🎉🎊😍
I really appreciate your teaching style - with this binding lesson I was able to complete a project I've procrastinated about for almost a year now! I didn't know how to finish the edges of my armchair covers, so I just hid them in my sewing closet. Thank you for helping me be successful!
I just love your videos. You make everything look so easy. Not only that but it is easy to follow your tutorials. I was stressing on how to bind my quilt until I saw your method. Thank you!!
Dear Vanessa, your explanations are excellent and your camera is always where it should be: on the labor. The colors of the fabrics are also well selected so we can see better. Thanks a lot for helping us beginners . Maria from Caracas, Venezuela
wow!! I did not know that it was that easy, at least you made it look easy, and that my dear is an AWEsome teacher!!! Thank you again Vanessa! One in a million!
Great video, doing the corners and going off the edges is so much simpler the way you have shown and also finishing the end of the binding. Thanks so much!
I have been watching your videos for a while, but I am so glad that I just found this one. You give and show such clear directions that maybe I won't have so much trouble with the bindings in the future. Thank you for this one and all you other videos as well. It is a joy to watch you creating all your projects.
Thanks for the clearest instructions i have ever seen! with the regular quilts, i still heat set the backside with the steam a seam or other type,(i have used elmers washable glue) and then hand or machine sew the binding on..it holds the binding down much nicer than clips or pins. Just like you, no right or wrong way, just what works for you!
Thank you so much. I knew I could depend on you. I've used the binding tool with no luck and some other video I watched that didn't even say right or wrong side of fabric to put together. This made perfect sense. I just needed to know how to attach the ends of the binding. I am working with flannel and it easily stretches. Thanks again from east TX!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Finally someone showed me how to do the 45 degree that I couldn't get a good view of before.....ANYWHERE!!!! You're awesome!!!!!
Just want to say what an incredible job you do in these tutorials. I watch many different quilting videos as I am self taught, but keep coming back to yours. Thank you so much!
This is the 2nd video from you that I have watched in the past week. I was attaching a binding to a wall hanging and just didn't quite understand how the binding worked, especially on the corners. I watched another tutorial for the wall hanging, but it just didn't tell me everything. I figured a lot of it out except for the binding. I was hoping you had made a video for this because I knew you would make it very understandable. Your videos are a *huge* help to me. Thank you!
This was very informative. She spoke slowly but not too slow, she explains everything in detail. Some p just keep repeating things way too much. I think this video will stick with me. Thank you. 😊
Finally I get it! I have read so many books and looked at other tutorials and it didn't click or make sense until I watched your video. Subscribing to your channel!
great video, MY dear friend taught me how to make crazy quilts, and lab blankets, to name a few, and since she moved i haven't been sewing as often, so i had forgotten how to do the binding! this video was really helpful!
Thank you for such easy-to-follow directions! I am making a quilt for the first time, completely by hand (since I cannot figure out how to install the bobbin casing onto my machine!) Your efforts in helping others is greatly appreciated.
excellent tutuorial -- thank you! thank you for showing clearly & carefully how to do the corners; thank you for editing & for being brief yet fully complete
Thank you soooo much! Your great at explaining exactly how to accomplish binding for this first time quilter. I had to laugh when you get to the1st corner, I started to reach for my mouse to review/replay again but you were a step ahead. Great job! This is my first attempt at quilting. I saved scraps from my girls old clothes, starting at 2T on up to make each of them a patch quilt. Wish me luck:)
Thank you SO much for this wonderful tutorial! I read about binding techniques and watched other video's but yours was SO clear and concise! I kept worrying about how I was going to finish this quilt, no more worries for me! I've got the binding on! Thank you for the CLEAR instructions! YAY!
I have been a quilter for a long while, but I really liked how you joined the two ends together to connect the binding together to finish sewing it around the piece. I tried it out today and love it! That's how I will be doing it from now on. Thank you :)
Awesome teacher!!!! Many teachers should take a class in teaching from you. I hate fiddling with bindings, but this method looks pretty straightforward. Thanks so much for doing this!
Thank you for taking your time to make this teaching video!!! I'm new to sewing and wanted to make a quilt for my husband for his birthday. You are helping me so much!
this is a very informative video and well done. closeups and the written info along the way is helpful. The stitching in the corner is a new method, and one that I had not seen before. I have tried many techniques for the miters, but never one like this. I might just have to give it a go to see if I like it better than the one I am using now. I love that quilters all have little tips like this, there is more than one way to get the job done. thanks, Chris
Thank you so much you are an awesome teacher I love your videos thank you so much for sharing where would we all be without people like you. Heart felt thanks :)
You are such an excellent teacher! I have a challenging technique for joining the ends of the binding but your method seems so much easier. I'm trying that on my next quilt. Thanks so much....keep 'em coming!
Hi Michael! If you want a neater finish at the join so it's mitered and reduces bulk then check out my other video where I show you how to do it. It's the easiest way there is! Here is the video link: ruclips.net/video/lgMaLIegitg/видео.html Happy quilting!
I was having a problem with putting the two ends of the binding together I was following another user, Quilt Binding: Joining Ends, Marci Baker of Alicia's Attic, but without success, my binding came out twisted and I was frustrated. After seeing how you did yours, everything became clear, it's actually simpler than what I imagined. Even thought I had taken a hands on course years ago, it's good to have a reminder on how things are done. Thank you :))
I am a new subscriber to your channel... I love the way you show how to do the math to figure out the amount of binding needed and that you show how to make the binding. Thank you so much for sharring
You probably dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend these days =)
Thank you for your easy to follow and detailed instructions. I struggle with attaching my binding. This video has been the most helpful and easiest for me to understand. Thanks =)
Thanks so much. I'm doing my first quilt for the Quilts of Valor in Montana. Every injured military person who is a native of Montana will receive a quilt. I believe last year they did 500 quilts.
@Uebersmith Most definitely! You can use the steam binding stuff to hold it in place for you to hand stitch. The hand stitching is always the best way to make sure your binding will last through washes and dries.
Finally ❤! I haven't quilted in years and it was really hard to find a tutorial for The Binding that made sense to me. Yours does thank you
You were in my newspaper, I agree, you are a great teacher. I will watch more of your videos. Thanks
This video is soooo helpful. Very basic step by step instructions. Makes it easy to do when your a visual learner. Thanks
Even so long ago you were making great videos. Thanks for this!!
This was the best set of instructions on binding off a quilt. Very good teacher.
Thank you so much . The mystery is now gone.
You are a great instructor. I haven't finished a quilt for awhile. Watched this and finished my quilt. THANKS
