Magneto and Mystique are like the naughty kids in the class sitting in the back roll and giving bad influence to their classmates 😂
Even jabbing at Rogue about her hair (which they caused). They really are the mean girls in this movie 🤣

Funny thing…. The editors missed Ice Man calling Pyro “Paul”
Whats your *real* name, John?

Great acting by Sir Ian McKellen. 🤘
“Oh yea! We got em!”

He knew exactly what he was doing in this scene to secure pyro 😂🔥💯
Forgot who said it but I love how Magneto takes the lighter with his powers to establish authority (0:56) and returns it by hand to establish brotherhood (1:31)
We’ll said. Erik is charismatic and plays into the shortcomings of Charles’ teachings. Pyro was taught to restrain and exercise his powers with responsibility, but Erik easily undid all of that and won him over by enabling him to be reckless and indulgent.
copy from another coment but right.
@@alexanderrmz9701 yours is too How many ppl said what you have said before.
But Pyro could’ve easily lit him on fire while he was holding just like he did the other guy in the beginning
Not sure if this is the original source but CinemaWins said something very similar in their X:Men2 Everything Great About video, might be who you're thinking of.
Ian McKellen was just magnificent as Magneto. Not many actors have the gravitas to pull off a line like "you are a god among insects" and make it sound believable enough that Pyro would totally buy it.
Agreed although other actors delivered similar ‘god among men’ lines like Tywin said ‘a lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of the sheep’ and Homelander called normal people ‘mud people’ and they all delivered in their own ways
ie you're an invented thing among lifeforms that predate you and will outlast you.
yeah right
he and Ian mcshane have that insane gravitas. they can say anything and leave you speechless
Why didn’t Magneto free Charles from Cerebro?
1:42 - Magneto gives Mystique the look as if to say, "Welp, looks like we found Toad's replacement."
" I can only manipulate the fire. I can't create it" I had that quote stuck in my mind in my early years of drawing because I only knew how to do fan art. I wasn't able to draw my own characters the way that I wanted them to look. I can do it now but I remember I always had that quote stuck in my mind when I couldn't.
Thinking about it, Prometheus would be a much better name for him than Pyro.

Pyro is one of the most underrated mutants in X-Men publication
Glad they gave him a supporting role in D&W and not just a cameo
Same! It was so good seeing him even if he didn’t do much. Hopefully when we finally have the new X-Men in the MCU by the time we’re all 70 years old, Pyro will have a significant role with the Brotherhood.
Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender, both just fitted perfectly to their role…
Yeah.
And they look alike as well
Too bad Fassbender got worse material to work with.

I mean First Class and Future Past were great movies. While Apocalypse was ehh he was still one of the best parts of the movie. Saw a quote that ever actor has a bad movie the trick is to never be terrible in them. Look at Raul Julia in Street Fighter horrendous movie but he was simply iconic as M Bison .
I like how Magneto could've levitated the lighter back to Pyro, but instead physically handed it to him as a person
I saw that someone commented he magnetized it to show dominance, but handed it back to show brotherhood.
Those aren't my words, just saw them on a different comment
@@powerstar8862Magneto manipulates people almost as well as he manipulates magnetism.
@featodclay2295
True that. His commanding presence is made absolutely clear in the third film when he and Pyro show up to that underground mutant meeting.
@@NobodyNowhere888you could say his personality is magnetic
Definitely. He became a person to Magneto.
I know one could technically call her "relegated" in comparison, but I strongly prefer Mystique in these movies, as opposed to Jennifer Lawrence's portrayal. I think her practically acting like a background character gives her a much creepier "skulking in the darkness" feel, which makes total sense for someone who relies on stealth and deception to do what she does. I love that Magneto clearly still has a great deal of affection for her and she's definitely his right-hand woman, but she's not outspoken and overstated like Lawrence's Mystique. She's cool, dangerous, and tactically understated.
A great deal of affection for her, yet the instant she loses her powers he loses all interest.
@@Here_is_Waldo Well, of course. He's still a mutant supremacist, that's what one should expect. It's not like he doesn't lament it. Judging by his "Such a shame... she was so beautiful..." comment, he pretty much literally sees her as if her skin just fell off and is no longer attractive.
I agree. I like RRS better:
Not tryna say either was better but J Law was playing a younger version a bit more carefree while Rebeca played an older and a more brutal and vicious version. ( in my opinion OG Mystique is better and well hotter not ashamed to say it)
Yeah she has an air of mystery that fits the character well.
"I can only manipulate the fire. I can't create it."
He said to the man who could manipulate metal, but not create it.
Thought he said that so he could get his lighter back lol
Magneto is a real legend. I'm glad that Pyro went with Magneto as well. Pyro is a real badass for a reason.
When magneto lost his powers he could see clearly now. People believed in n trusted him n they died. Pyro saw what he was when he rejected mystique.
Pyro was weak😂
@@actuary33he actually didn’t lose his powers. At the very end of the film, you could see him nudge a metal queen chess piece
Love that shot at 0:25 where rogue takes off her glove as a threat and Magento and mystique genuinely seem either impressed that shes willing to threaten them or a little afraid because they know how devastating her powers can be
It was both it was like ohhh shit lol
It was neither, the ship was made of metal, Magneto could ruin her with a thought
it was more of a "damn she went there" moment. Magneto isn't going to be afraid of rogue, they are in a metal ship and even the clothing rogue was wearing had metal on it. Magneto could have killed her with ease before she took 1 step towards them.
@@fallendeus true however the fact that all she has to do is touch us scary as hell
He was probably a bit impressed she would stand up to them and yes her power would absolutely kill both of them but she would have to touch him first which definitely wasn't gonna happen
Brilliant cinematography.
Magneto pulls the lighter, Pyro pulls the fire and then after the lesson Magneto just hands it back.
Magneto isn't wrong, Pyro is basically fire version of him. Fire just isn't as abundant as metal is.
You posted this at the best time. Pyro will return for Deadpool and Wolverine 🔥🔥

"You are a God among insects. Never let anyone tell you different"

"Is that what they say?" You have no idea how many times I quote that in the exact same manner and infliction as him when someone starts a sentence with "so they say".
"they" talk alot

This is my favorite scene in the movie!
Basically for the whole film, everybody has told Pyro that he's dangerous, he's wild, he's a punk, he needs to be controlled.....
Magneto comes along and says there's nothing wrong with you. Be yourself and forget about the rest of the world.
That's why I've always related more to Erik's side than Charles.....
Charles wants you to fit in with society even if that means you have to change yourself.
Erik sees you as perfect the way you are and if society can't accept that, then society needs to change!
Yet none of them is right or wrong. Charles understands that change and acceptance can only be planted as seeds, which take time to grow. But Magneto understands that non-mutants will never fully accept mutants since they are naturally stronger, so they're seen as a threat. One is hopeful and wants peace at the cost of forcing the current gen to keep a low profile. The other is resentful and wants to oppress not only bigots but everyone who is not of his kind. Either way, in a world of only mutants, the same human conflicts would arise. Every species looks out for their kind in order to survive. It's always been that way. That's it.
Wasn’t Magneto trying to kill all of the humans just a bit extreme? And leaving Charles like that?
"Well Pyro, I'am Gandalf the Grey.."
Gandalf the Gay
Rogue will never forgive you for trying to kill her; Erik.
Who said that quote??
@@aaronmassimino740 I did. Just because Rogue try to kill Erik for what happened in the first film.
Magneto did make it up to her by saving her life from the sentinels in the extended cut of Days of Future Past.
@@LukeKetchum7003 I know. But that's because he redimes himself.
I always thought that taking off the glove and stare was hilarious. This iteration of Rogue would have been steamrolled before she even got close enough to Magneto to touch him 🤣

Magneto basically grooms his followers into believing they are stronger than they are, Xavier teaches them to harness their power.
"ok ian, we'd like you to pronounce the word 'say' in an awesome manner no-one's ever heard before"

I’m thinking he’ll probably die with only a couple mins of screen time, as I imagine the other mutants will be like in the film

If they're bringing back Pyro in Deadpool & Wolverine, I hope that they also bring back Anna Paquin as Rogue.
Anna would be too old now to reprise her role, let alone be interested. These movies are 20 years old now.
I don't think age would be the issue I mean if Pyro coming back then no problem for her since they supposedly close the same age

When not fighting Balrog in the depths of Khazad-um, Gandalf spends his time fighting for the rights of mutants.
Magnetos real power isint manipulating magnetism, its manipulating humans.
Ian macellan is such a good actor
Pyro is an interesting character because they get him limits that other flame users don't have. He isn't immune to flame. He cannot make flame.
In the comics he wears a flame-proof costume and carries a flamethrower... but he can manipulate existing fire.
I love the look Magneto gives Mystique after he talks to Pyro. “We got him”
This scen is imo one of the best in the whole franchise. Doesn't do a lot, and still push the opposite narrative.
Instead of seeling Charle's equality story, it pushes the young teen full of doubts and anger with basically a potential older version of himself. Without anyone else listening him, Pyro is basically having an inside dialogue about why the hell he's fighting for humans who hate him and why he stays with the XMen when Mystique is by Erik's side and Rogue and Bobby are together while he's alone.
Erik is basically Pyro's moral compass, like Bobby to Rogue. But pushed him to listen to himself and his worst instincts. In just one minut, Erik gaves him the attention and showed the hand he needed.
I wonder if in 2024 ...
Pyro: "They say you're an a**hole!
Deadpool: "Is that what they say?"
I like that he hands it back physically, rather than using his powers. Very nice detail.
Nice touch.
Love how utterly *smooth* the SFX of Magneto's powers are. Perfectly demonstrates that this guy has truly mastered his ability.
Love how pyro is always flicking the lighter open, eager to use his power at any given chance. If DP & W doesn’t incorporate his lighter flick tic I’ll be upset
Unlike Bobby's parents, Magneto is not at all bothered by Pyro compulsively flicking the lighter or his adversarial attitude. He validates him and his powers instead. It's no wonder Pyro flipped. Very well written scene.
I’m glad this came up on my algorithm. The X-Men series as a kid felt like a fever dream. I only watched these movies once and that Pyro guy unlocked a deep memory of this movie. The fire types in any show, movie, and anime I’ve watched, have always been my favorite 😶🌫️.
Pyro is either gonna be the main villain or the secondary villain in Deadpool & Wolverine
Pyro couldn’t hold a rushlight against either of them as a primary antagonist. I hope he’s a secondary or tertiary character. Has Mr. Sinister already been done in any of the live-action X-Men films?

I like how Pyro is coming back in Deadpool and wolverine.
I think, everyone has experienced jokes on their names as a kid. It touches something because the respect to the name is interpreted as respect to our very identity. Though we didn't even chose those names by ourselves. Those "Real Names" are even more intimate. Talking about them and respecting them is forming a special bond.
For magneto the "mutant" name is the real identity of someone, I like this detail in the character.
It’s a fantastic pitch. “You’re a god among insects.”
I gotta say, if I was a mutant and society thought they’d be better off without me and there was a mutant dude who believed mutants were the future…
I’m not sure I wouldn’t sign up.
That helmet is the coolest helmet I've ever seen
the thing that not much people realize is that magneto is much stronger than you think, magnetism itself is one of the 4 fundamental forces of the universe besides gravity, the weak and strong nuclear forces. in the universe all things in it weather it be metal or non metals exhibit a magnetic force, the magnetic forces are diamagnetic and paramagnetic in nature with materials ranging from metals to wood or even organic matter. theoretically based on this universal nature of magnetism, magneto can hypothetically manipulate anything in the universe, metal and non metal making him one of the strongest beings in existence.
I love how they always add sound when magneto uses his power even if hes not bending metal. Meanwhile irl something would just float without making a sound.
All the subtle ways in which Magneto completely mind-f*cked Pyro.
Fantastic news he is back.

Says the guy whose entire body bursts into flames.
Based on this quote, Pyro doesn't even understand his own power.
Maybe I'm being a little pedantic, but just because I need a lighter to start a bonfire, doesn't mean that me throwing wood & fuel on it isn't a degree of creation.
What i really like about the scene of him handing it back is that he Could've just levitated it back for him to grab, but he didn't.

I like how Pyro joining Magneto ended up being totally pointless. Nothing ever happened with this plot point.
It was picked up in the next movie. Pyro joined his Brotherhood team.
@@matthewschwartz6607 But he didn't really do anything important in that movie. He was irrelevant. He was no different than any of Magneto's other lackeys. They could've cut out this whole plot point and nothing would've changed.

Apocalypse : you don't need a lighter, you have me.
(proceeds to evolve Pyro)
Magneto relates to him in that he cannot create the metal that he controls. He meant 100% what he said when he says he's a god among insects, because he feels the same way about himself.
He knows exactly what Pyro's potential is and immediately knew he had to get him on their side.
Iceman is pyro in THE BOYS
Gods can still die. Never let anyone tell you different.
Magneto is such a master manipulator. He makes an instant and accurate judgement about Pyro's character, and then says exactly what he knows Pyro wants to hear. The kid is putty in his hands. Magneto has been doing this for decades, and Pyro has no idea who he's dealing with because he's just a cocky kid who thinks he knows everything.
Magnito towards Rouge in the 1st movie: “I’m so sorry. You’re one of us. You don’t deserve this, but for the sake of our mission you will be sacrificed.”
Movie 2: “pfft, look at what me nearly killing you did to your hair. That’s hilarious.”
And by the third movie, he was fine ditching Mystique the moment she lost her powers. Prison really did a number of old Magneto.
The subtle beauty of manipulation at hand achieves amazing results. Magento takes the lighter from John with his pinprick of power that is the master of magnetism then gives Pyro his lighter back. Sometimes it's the smallest things that have the greatest impact on someone.
Ah what a breath of fresh air to see Ian Mckellen as a nothing held back full fledged Magneto.
After all the years after the original trilogy of seeing him and his younger version holding back and being some kind of goodie two shoes.
Ian's oerformance and the way he fully embraces mutant kind is just so satisfying .
How else would you get lines like "what's your real name?" Which turns all the would be corny superhero names and gives them a serious purpose.
Charles is right. Erik does know how to get into people’s head, even if it is not his power.
I would love to see Iceman and Pyro again
Magneto knew exactly what he was doing in xmen 2 we see pyro trying to figure out who he is thats why him being considered a god in magnetos eyes made him join the brotherhood he knew he couldnt achieve what he wanted if he stayed with the xmen
it will be interesting to see him again in D&W
Pyro, Magneto, and Mystique all knew, in less than a 2 minute conversation, that if they all lived through the fight, that they were all leaving together.
I see Rogue is still holding on to that grudge
