Great VLOG, it's cool to see you in Mystic Seaport. I lived in Connecticut around 2000 for a few years and spent a lot of time down at Mystic learning boat handling and watching them build the replica of the Amistad. Such a cool place. Congrats on finishing the move! -Caleb Harris
Great shoutout for Makers Central, Nick is a good friend of mine and a fellow maker and I have a great insight into just how amazing this event is going to be. I look forward to meeting you. Cheers, Jim
That was a fantastic video! Loved the interviews, loved Vance's wit and foot peace sign, luuuurved the boat show and the work in those cannons was superb. Like I said fantastic!
Vance is SUCH a Maker! The whole time you're talking to him, HE'S WORKIN'!!! "Peace!" (With the toes!)...Priceless! Keep doin ' what'cha do JD! Much Love Brother! Have A Super Week!.....*Gus*
I have to thank you for the talesfromashipwright interview and RUclips link the guy is so fantastic to watch. His casualness and skill just compel you to watch & watch. Keep up your fantastic work and keep meeting up with these fantastic guy's like Lou.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your videos and really enjoy sharing that time with my husband. I do wish that Taylor would make more videos and I am certainly glad you're done moving as it was making me tired just watching you. Remember Jimmy that quality is much better than quantity any day so quit beating yourself up as when a video does come up...it's worth the wait! Keep creating and we'll keep watching.
Wow! Words cannot express the awesome! Can't wait to meet you and the rest of the makers in the UK Makers Central @ the NEC! Amazing. Totally made my day.
Wow, after all of the stuff I saw you make in the old shop, I never realized it was in a basement in the city. I have even more appreciation for what you've done. I'm also excited to see what you can do in a "proper" work space.
Ive only recently discovered you Jimmy, so Ive been watching most of your videos over the past few months, so Ive not really noticed any decline in your videos, love your inspirational work.
Great video Jimmy! Glad to see that you were in my neck of the woods. Wish that I had known about that Mystic Seaport event as I would love to have been there. I had watched the videos that Lou did on that small boat build & they were incredible! That guy has some great skills for sure. Keep up the great work.................... Steve
Jimmy, it'll be great to see some content videos again, I've really missed them, as I am sure everyone else has, but my hat is off to you and the other RUclips content providers. I make videos for my kids about what my wife and I are up to in our shop, the videos are VLOG style with little editing, and I still have difficulty "producing" them on time, once a week. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into your videos, it is appreciated.
One million subscribers, imagine if we all donated one dollar? The shop would be up and running in no time. Jimmy earned every click and he is not only an amazing Maker, but he is an amazing person as well. Thanks for sharing your gift with us Jimmy. I challenge you all to donate your dollar, I have already sent some to him.
I didn't ask that without his permission first. He isn't lucky, luck is hitting the lotto you don't have to work for it. He works hard, and I have asked him questions, and he always returns with an answer. He grew this channel with hard work he shares for free with us. I think it is us who are the lucky ones to have him sharing his knowledge for free. I had his Brother John do a fundraiser for me, and he came to Maryland to do it. This is a family that gives back, and good family. Nothing wrong with trying to help Jimmy get his new shop up and running. Don't be jealous, just give a dollar. Thanks.
Mind blown with those cannon mechanisms!!!! That dude had some wicked sick designs. Looks like a cool guy to hang out with! Go Vance!!! Love the toe clicking buddy! Great video Jimmy! We totally have to hit that flea market! 👊🏻😜 Brian
PseudoSam - Agreement; specially aftar a DiResta content drought. And good to see Spike again, was wondering if he was still aroundt. Questions for Jimmy: 1) Does there exist somewhere an accessible list of all the othar RUclipsrs that you follow? 2) Do you use a 'steadycam' stick and if so, which one? 3) You mention you are "waiting for approval" on 2 videos already made - what means this? Good to have you back active again.
Mekratrig If you're using the iPhone RUclips app, click on Jimmy Diresta to take you to his channel page, swipe over and click Channels, scroll down to Subscriptions. I guess it's similar on other devices.
Dear Jimmy I hope that old creative, inspired, genius maker and one of a kind Jimmy get back to us soon. more creative work videos and less volging..... Sad to see the old workshop empty and good luck with the new one. waiting our old master Jimmy Diresta.
I know you have in the past, but I would like to acknowledge your wife. She is a true saint. Without her you couldn't do what you do. And I know you realize that. I'm sure I could go on for hours about how much she supports what you do, but I won't. I just salute her for everything she does behind the scenes that make what you do possible. SALUTE
It's sad to know we won't see the upper east side shop anymore but I'm really excited to see then next part of the journey. Now. Just need to see if I can make it over to the U.K. From Sweden next year. Much love to you the family and the animals. Daniel and the Swedish house Mafia

Excellent vid as usual. Love the cannons. You're editing is so spot on and interesting. Keep up the great work! P.S. doing well since the classes. Actually paying off the machine soon with all the extra work.
If you leave the bench outside your old shop, you should make a plaque or something with a bit of information about your old shop. It's a historic place for many makers.
Nick Zammeti NZ WoodTurning Nick can I give you a call tomorrow? I run an exhibitions logistics company here in the UK, I'd love to donate you my Forklifting service free of charge to support your amazing work in making this event happen.
I sat here in total awe watching the caliber of craftsmanship in your video. Then watching your interview of Vance took it over the top. Congrats on finally finishing up on your move. Any final "memory lane" thoughts? As a number of Makers are in the process of moving this year - my turn may happen next May. Hopefully after Bay Area Makers Faire....will be living near Carl Jacobson. Thanks.
Amazing .. thanks for the shout out Jimmy . Looking forward to Makers Central in the U.K. Next May 😜👍🏽👍🏽
Lous is such a great guy! He is as unique as his skills are. I learned so many things from him that no other youtuber ever showed.
Jimmy, if you're going to England, you should meet up with a blacksmith named Alec Steele. Amazing maker with a fantastic personality.
Send Alec a message. I just did.
Great VLOG, it's cool to see you in Mystic Seaport. I lived in Connecticut around 2000 for a few years and spent a lot of time down at Mystic learning boat handling and watching them build the replica of the Amistad. Such a cool place. Congrats on finishing the move!

Lou is incredible. Jim, seriously you and Lou really need to do something together.
HAHA! I love when you glossed over the shiny tools and kept a longer shot on the rusty chain. Really shows the true heart of Diresta!

I simply adore Lou! He's an inspiration to all of us, whether we build boats or merely dream of it.

Thanks for the great shots of the empty basement! It's amazing how much you accomplished in that space.

That weather looks so great! Enjoy it when you can! And had not trouble with noise or anything there!
Love your enthusiasm and watching you geek out over the canons. That's how I feel when I watch you make stuff.
Glade to here the move is over. I know that wonderful feeling.
Build Something Cool The best part is adding tool holders for screwdrivers.
Awesome interviews with some great makers 👍🏼

Marc Eaton I think he should ask that question, because he must feel lucky
I didn't ask that without his permission first. He isn't lucky, luck is hitting the lotto you don't have to work for it. Marc Eaton no you misunderstood, I love jimmy's work, been following for ages! I was referring to Dirty Harry, your picture
I'm sorry, I understand now. Thanks.
These are hands down the best vlogs on RUclips
Mind blown with those cannon mechanisms!!!! That dude had some wicked sick designs. Looks like a cool guy to hang out with! Go Vance!!! Love the toe clicking buddy! Great video Jimmy! We totally have to hit that flea market! 👊🏻😜 Brian
Exciting stuff Jimmy, these vlogs have really come into their own recently, loving it!
Definitely the end of an era. The NYC shop is now just a basement. There should be a plaque embedded in the sidewalk.
peggyt1243 There's a Diresta spray template welded to the lamppost on the pavement. Close enough?
I can not say how much i love these videos!
Way too cool that you were at the Mystic Boat Show, I was there as well and got the chance to shake hands with Lou!
Bro, you're the best. Looking forward to see those videos!
I am a simple man. I see a DiResta video, I insta click.
I know what you mean. Its like a reflex action. Probably tied to mans need to build.
Some videos I keep for later to watch when I relax.
I know what kind of videos those are... mama said those will make you go blind.
PseudoSam - Agreement; specially aftar a DiResta content drought. And good to see Spike again, was wondering if he was still aroundt.
Questions for Jimmy:
1) Does there exist somewhere an accessible list of all the othar RUclipsrs that you follow?
2) Do you use a 'steadycam' stick and if so, which one?
3) You mention you are "waiting for approval" on 2 videos already made - what means this?

I am glad you got to spend some time with Lou.!,
Lou and Diresta, my heroes met :) So cool.
Vance better understands the "hand-made vs mind-made" debate and wishes to change his answer. "I love the CNC!" he said.
tim sway we can do a redaction !! Next week
jimmydiresta do you plan to have any classes this year?
I can't believe you did all your work out of that little basement shop.... Good luck with the new one

Cool to see all the old tools at the Mystic in really nice shape, not all rusty like you normally see. I bet they cost a fortune though.
I don't normally comment on videos... but... Jimmy, that was a super cool video. Loved the style
Could u make a tour of ur entire property using ur drone plz, its so beautiful but i for example cant get orientation just from the videos
If you leave the bench outside your old shop, you should make a plaque or something with a bit of information about your old shop. It's a historic place for many makers.
There needs to be an epic Vance Maker/Jimmy DiResta maker colab!
I personally love the rooster interruptions.
Really looking forward to Maker Central!
