- I was asked to make this video as I have done the same for many other things inc. 125cc for under £500! Clearly this is just bike trader but I trust it more than people on eBay, gumtree etc.

"Do you wanna sell your bike or not?"
No one wants to sell their bike. What kind of question is that, lol.
🤣 fair point!
Omg it was me that asked for 2000😂😂 thanks buddy this video is helpful specifically that ktm I'll look into it more
No worries couldn't remember who or where I was asked but did remember I was asked haha

Haha this gets said in every one of these videos. I use track balls no scroll wheels.
I tell you what people looking for a 125 are getting fleeced. Considering I paid £1,500 for a zx-6r j1 with 13,200 miles on a clock and no rust in sight, I feel sorry for 125 potential owners.
WHO DISLIKED THE VIDEO?!!?!?!?! .... how dare they
Bought a honda cbf125 20k on the clock for £700 from gumtree spent £100 replacing parts and servicing and is now running sweet as a nut. Its running alot better than my cousins KTM Duke 125 that he bought new for £3.5k hes only put 1k miles on it and it barely does 60mph and burns oil.
For that sort of money you could get a Sinnis Terrain 125.
Standard features include:-
Front and rear crash bars that really do protect the bike when you drop it. It's an adventure bike so getting dropped is something to expect and novice riders will drop ANY bike anyway so you might as well get something that is actually designed to survive such events.
Side stand AND centre stand - makes doing maintenance sooo much easier.
Panniers and top box - well made and they keep stuff dry.
USB port for charging smartphone/sat nav/whatever.
OK it's not the fastest 125 but it is designed as a true adventure bike from the ground up and will cruise at 50mph all day. Perfectly capable to ford streams, climb mountains, or explore muddy trails. If you're looking for a machine to learn on and pass your test this is about the best bike to do it on.
I got one to use as an urban commuter and to go exploring at weekends. One of the best made bikes I've ever owned.
For £2500 you can get a sinnis terrain with a years warranty and AA cover. I know because I did.
But then you face the depreciation, if it breaks down you normally cant get parts or they have to come from china, also they're a bit soulless (which you wont realise till you've ridden more bikes) and a slow (even compared to other 125s) the terrain has positives of coming with top box and panniers though which makes them quite attractive along with the price but 125s wear and break down faster so you want to know that you can get the parts, I've had a few chinese bikes but wouldnt reccomend them tbh much better off with a cbf or something as they'll out live the chinese bike anyway and keep their value better
I have a few skills with spanner. I knew nothing about motorbikes. Hence bought a lexmoto xtrs for £255. More or less everything needed fixing. It took 2 months for me to fix it and pass the mot. The deal included a manual, spare parts and a new helmet, gloves, jacket and trousers. I now understand all the controls because i fixed/serviced them. The bike is 7 ears old and had never had an mot! It had 3500 miles on clock.
I'm doing my cbt next week. Total cost so far about £1000. Loads of new parts.
That total price includes an armoured jacket and Kevlar jeans plus new boots.
..also £23 for a theory test and £9.90 for eBay download to help pass.
On the downside I have fallen off twice practicing slow speed manoeuvres.
I need some luck next week. 2 hours riding on roads is frightening!
That £1000 also included road tax.
Bloody hell, £2500 for a 125?! I paid £800 for my CBR125 and it was mint!!
I have done a video on £500 and £1500 bikes already, this was viewer requested. 👍
@@spicy110 yeah me 😂😍
My great uncle Freddie once purchased a Scott Squirrel for 12 guineas and a brace of Partidge.
Jolly good show.
Old school 2 stroke 125's are the most fun I've got a rg125 gamma a kmx125 and a little rxs100 the rxs is the most reliable and comfortable little bike I've ever ridden
The red ybr I was gonna buy and the guy said he sold it the day before I went to buy it
There is no way on earth I'd pay anything over 2000 for a 125, used or new. If someone has the cash, spend say 800 on a 125, get some tidy ones for that albeit privately, save the 1200 and put it towards a bigger bike for when you pass. Or put it toward your test itself.
If you're a competent rider and get used to the bigger machines quick (piece of piss big bikes are to ride anyone who says theyre hard is talking shite, just more powerful obviously), you may spend 250 all in, give or take. Still have 1000-ish left for a 500cc +.
That's why I did £500 and £1500 in the past. We are now in a age of 125cc costing up to 5k. If your 17 you can't get larger bikes so there is people like the viewer who request this video.
How to sell your bike. Clear photos, clean bike and decent weather. Take eight landscape photos walking around the bike to give a 3d impression then add a few detail pictures of what a buyer may be intrested in. No filters, filters are for snapchat.
Spicy110 for under your 2.5k budget I got a 12 month old Suzuki gsxs125 with 6k miles. Faultless and fantastic for a 125
Wow nice deal!
I have a zontes scorpion 125 really nice bike for the money no one seems to talk about zontes its held up well for 2 years
I own a dr 125 sm amazing bikes as long as they are in top shape engine is bulletproof
125 used for under £2.5? Just buy a new lexmoto
Fun fact, KTM bikes under 500cc are made in India by Bajaj, due to the 'beef tax' - a 100% import duty on European bikes entering the USA in retaliation for the ban on American beef for using growth hormones banned in Europe.
Each to their own but I've just passed my CBT (37 years old btw), had a look at YBR's & CBR's but they're £2k for a used one so I went for a brand new Lexmoto ZSX-R for £1600. I love it, 2 year warranty. What more would you need?
they really are dangerous rubbish tbh, it will fall apart after the two years no doubt, and check all the bolts are tight, they often arent.
@@deadprivacy interesting? Have you owned a Lexmoto? I didn't know much about the brand before finding Spicy's channel. I don't plan on owning it 2 years, just until I do my test next year.
@@bevtij yep, had a few, one was two years old, practically no miles , all the bolts fell out and the frame cracked after 100 miles of riding, the carb was junk too , bad casting, wouldnt run properly until i replaced it, the other one, the bolts all fell out - again, rusted like a pig too, the levers snapped, the glass came out of the brake master, and they wobble in really scary ways when ridden.
oh an d electrical gremlins, oh and the tanks rust like esso added salt to their fuel, once a month the tank would need flushing of rust.
i think its a bit of a crapshoot with them, but when it comes to motorcycles?
cheap = likely dangerous, they are miles ahead of some of the other chinese crap but be under no illusion they are indeed chinese crap.
ive turned about twenty of them over , the custom ones , yank out the rear shocks and sell as used, pays for mig wire to hardtail em and the rear subframe off, set of flattter bars. bosh sling it on ebay, they lap em up
@@deadprivacy OK, I'll see how I get on then. I know a guy who worked in a bike shop for years who said they were OK. Perhaps it's luck of the draw or how they were assembled? Or maybe they're getting better year by year, I don't know. I heard all 125cc's are made in China/Taiwan etc now so maybe Yam/Honda have better quality control. Like I say, I'm happy so far but only had it a few days.
@@bevtij ok these dyas is a lot different than ok used to be...they are getting better but they are the same parts as the really crapppy ones, they just get better qc, sinnis arent too bad either, but gimme a 25 year old cg125 or a c90 over a lexmoto anyday,
i mean, the fake floating discs and stuff, and all that styling...makes me suspicious.
having the glass pop out of my master cylinder breaking from 40 was not a pleasant experience i can tell you!
Hiya, thinking of buying keeway superlight here. What do u guys think about this bike?
What’s this website’s name
I'm buying the aprillia rs4
That ktm had 5+ owners ahaha
What site is this?
“Would work equally well for a man or a woman. No photocopiers though, it’s too small”
I just got myself a Yamaha yzfr125. For a steal !!
Welcome to the world of incredibly slow overtakes and high corner speeds! Yamaha gang welcomes you💪
Mustachio's Motovlogs 😂 thanks man got 80 mph out of her (I’m a little guy) 😅
@@hatton992 me too😂 the one massive advantage we have over tall people
Mustachio's Motovlogs 😂 true man
Benelli doesn’t get enough air time for a brand new cheap option. I’m looking at the tnt 125 just because it’s a grom for £2100 and it’s fun as hell with its side exhausts.
bikegirl2 if I want the grom I’d have to get finance, with the benelli I can buy it outright. You’re not wrong though, it’s a decision I will probably make in a few weeks
bikegirl2 if I want the grom I’d have to get finance, with the benelli I can buy it outright. You’re not wrong though, y
That Aprilia is still for sale 😂. You must not be to far from me to be getting the same bikes and shops!
I’m looking into getting a original 2 Stoke Aprilia RS125! What are your thoughts?
if you really want a two stroke, get a Honda NSR, they need a new piston after 40 thousand kilometers instead of the 20 to 30 thousand kilometers the aprilia rs needs a new piston after. the NSR can be neglected for years and still run after just a few hours of repairs and maintenance.
I had a NSR (that was not being used for like 5 years before I bought it) back when I only had my A1 license and while not the most comfortable it is quite reliable and easy to work on.
However it is quite loud and you need to really rev it to get good power out if it.
You've done good value 125's and A2 bikes, What about a sensible unrestricted bike (650-800cc?) for less than £4000-£5000? I have a 13 plate ER6N thats getting a bit stale :)
I did do 1000cc for a £1000 but yer maybe I could do a more sensible look but then again that is a huge market of bikes.
@@spicy110 Oh perhaps I missed that one! Yeah I'd agree you'd find yourself looking at all sort of bike styles unless you made your episode specifically per style, for example sticking with Naked's or Supermoto's etc
been looking around for a good CBT bike, found and fell in love with a greatly priced Kawasaki ar125 that looked to be in really good shape, wanted too long to pull the trigger and the listing disappeared right in front of me! (if anyone knows any other, similar style bikes that can easily be found around £2000, I would be most grateful)
This is going to be a purely educational question. But since you say you know a lot about lexmotos do you think since the lxr125 and the 380cc model share the exact same frame you could put the 380cc engine into the 125 model? Just curious. I'm wondering whether since they're the same the engines can be pretty much swapped easily.
Cheers
To my understanding, that would be possible yes in theory, it is the same frame but weather it's a drop in fit is another thing.

Extra space under the tank on the 125 indicates same mainframe only a smaller engine,
Looks like an adaptor/bracket has been used on the mainframe to support a 125 engine as its smaller.
Lexmoto = Cheap so reusing frame will save money also makes it more likely its a direct swap with exception of the brackets needing replaced/removed
so theoretically remove/replace bracket and away you go
i really wouldnt rely on something lexmoto built to take a bigger engine than it was sold with.
@@deadprivacy Cheaper than designing and manufacturing a new chassis, check the images its pretty clear a bracket is used to adapt for smaller engine however I haven't got both bikes in-front of me so i could be wrong.
Prices seem a little strong imo - it’s either 1-3 years old or it’s been flogged to death and they want silly money - I’m sure there is a Covid price bubble atm
How about the best sportsbike or ADV bike for those with little legs?
Problem is I really don't know what are good and bad for the shorter rider it's well out my ball park.
@@spicy110 Reeno can help
I want a KMX-125 :)
I am very, very old.
I wanna buy an A2 legal bike soon when I finish my A2 license. do you recommend new or used and which bikes. I'm a CBF bike kinda guy. my first bike is the cb125F. of course, it doesn't have to be a honda CBF but any other bikes which have the same riding style.
Used will save you a lot of money, but you need to make sure the bike is in good condition. You could buy used from a trader to get a bit of back up should anything go wrong but you pay a bit more than the private market.
@@spicy110 do you have a video on what to look out for when buying used? thanks
One of my mates used to ride a CBF, got a Honda NC as an A2 bike and he loves it. They give off the same energy if you ask me
Yes it's mentioned in this video and linked at the end
Cbr500r 👍🏼
Can you do a 50cc one for under 1000?????
Yes a push bike till your 17 then get a 125. I don't consider 50 cc bikes safe on the road unless it's only used on 30mph roads around town.
@@spicy110 what about a derbi senda cuz they can reach 50 without a problem but idk what the insurance is like
stonks
Anyone know if I should start automatic or geared bike when I turn 17 what's easier
If you want a geared bike in the end learn gears. You do not want to pass on a auto and then try and ride a machine you have little understanding of control on. 🙂👍
Always geared, practice for a week on a 125cc then buy a turbo bussa
5:58 is the daughter included in the price? Asking for a friend

Oh yes a Honda nsr 125😁 but then I'm biased. £2500 for a 25 year old bike that is probably due a top end rebuild , oh no way😂
