This is about right. I grew up in Minnesota and got stationed in California with the Air Force way back in the 90s. I found that people out there are not interested in talking to a stranger. I found it refreshing driving home and stopping off at SA (do they still have Super Americas?) in Iowa and sparking a friendly conversation with the guy working behind the counter. He appeared so friendly after being in California for several months.
When Charlie said that about the Packers and the Bears, I bent double over the desk, laughing harder than I've laughed in several years. Thanks, Charlie.
the most accurate part was the “i havent seen a dead body since the packers played the bears” speaking from the perspective of someone who has lived in wisconsin his whole life that is definitely something ive heard at a family reunion before
Fun fact: John Wayne Gacy (A midwestern serial killer) actually dumped five bodies into the Des Plaines River (which runs through Wisconsin and Illinois). Also, many of the most famous serial killers are from the midwest, such as H. H. It is so funny, because I am from Arizona and both these guys I find to be weird. 😂 I recently moved to California and the West Coast guy is exactly what I noticed, like they were edgy and cagey, like I wanted something from them when I was just being nice. But the Midwesterner seems very intimidating to me, as I am Introvert and I would be unsure how to react. It is so interesting how the different cultural regions of the U.S. behave.
I experienced the same thing when I first moved to Los Angeles eight years ago. Since then I’ve acclimated, because when in Rome, you kinda learn what the Romans do. I will say, that there are a lot of shady untrustworthy people in Southern California, mostly Los Angeles so it’s actually wise to not trust people so quickly. We tend to observe a lot here and then make decisions whether or not we want to speak with someone. It’s just kind of the way. It goes here. Once you get used to it it’s just normal for us and nobody’s offended if somebody doesn’t want to talk, we get it.
I’m originally from Southern California and lived there for 10 years and moved to Utah and have been here 7 and I can confirm I’ve never heard someone w this accent

One thing us people who live in Missouri is think we have met someone we first met that day
You forgot Iowa
Forgot Indiana and Michigan and Ohio and Kentucky and West Virginia...
thank you for clarifying rural Illinois
So. Ill baby
As someone born and raised in rural Greece but been living in Los Angeles CA for the last decade, I can identify completely with the Midwest.
I actually have some family in South Dakota I make sure to visit and it’s as if I’m taken back to Greece.
The way of life is simple and the relationships more genuine. I have resisted LA influence in many ways and people here still find it weird I talk to neighbours or sometimes cooking for them.
People I know in LA also don’t understand why I would go out of my way to fix things or install stuff for free for people I’m friends with.
I might just join my folks in South Dakota in the next few years 😂
"That's a good river."
"Sorry bout that"
"You're a chess guy, aren't ya?"
"You got a fishing pole around?"
"4... 4, in the river."
"Tell your folks I says hi"
"WHAT'D YOU SAY ABOUT THE PACKERS"
"That wouldn't be very Christian of me"
*THE GODDAMN ACCENT*
As a Wisconsinite, I'm mad at how accurate this is
It’s the “der bud” that is the selling point for me
Yeah it's mantiwoc minute guy check him out
Do- do you have bodies in a river?
Forgot the “ope” every few minutes for about no reason at all
Ope
That's more of a Michigan thing... this is from a born Michigander
@@melaninqueen2413 As someone from Indiana, I can say everyone here says "ope"
Ay we only say that if we do something on accident like bump into Someone or something
Ohio does it

Trevor: Hold my camera.
Obviously a stolen joke, but I still don't get it... Like avenger isn't a crossover. It's just superhero movies combining. Now if you have the green guy in a movie with Rowan Atkinsons Mr bean... then yeah. Otherwise fuuuuuuuck no

Having lived in Wisconsin from birth to 6th grade, and California from 6th grade through 12th, I can say this is accurate af and Californians really ARE the universe's buzzkill.
I take offense to that.
Sorry you had to live in Wisconsin.

Same bruh
I say sorry too much
Sums up my town.
Yes midwesterners are very nice people. But are they really nice to that extent? Something doesn’t seem right here.
@@Kothrive what?
The californian acts like he’s miserable, the Midwesterner is how I literally act every day
I'm a SoCal native. I do not happily spend time outside in a Midwestern summer, even though I live out here now.

That is funny! I saw it exactly opposite!
The Californian was immediately afraid because he knew he was in the presence of a murderer. Only someone that wants to kill you in an intimate way is that nice.
We're not miserable we just don't talk to random strangers for no reason lol
I grew up in the Midwest from a west coast family. I was cringing so hard by how accurate both of these are.
No one:
West Coast: Does postmates deliver around here.
I just moved to the Midwest and it is surprisingly like this a lot of packers fans rivers and people are really nice for some reason
People are really nice cuz it's the best place to live 😊✌😂

That level of anger with a “gosh darn it” is ridiculous. We at least say “gosh dang it” if we’re at hat-throwing levels of rage.
"But how many have you seen?"
"4"
Poor guy
It’s a little exaggerated but me and my fellow Wisconsinites do actually talk like your stereotypical Canadian. Also yes, we do always talk about fishing but that’s because it’s about the only fucking thing to do in Wisconsin. When you’re bored you either, drink, eat, fish, or go boating, or a combination of all 4.
Can't relate. I live in Milwaukee, so i'm not really getting the full Wisconsin experience.
Lmao I've never heard a Canadian accent from someone living in Wisconsin.
Maybe if you go up north in Minnesota but that's pretty much it.
Well I live in Madison now and I still hear a subtle Canadian like accent from a few people I know but I suppose I my family and I got our accent because I was born in a very small city in northern Wisconsin
If you live in southern Ohio the river is so shit that you can only do 2 of those things
Listen to sports, praise yount, praise Favre and Rodgers, assault cubs and bears fans, hunt that's the only other things we do

The South is like that too. Friendly-like, and total strangers say hi while wating for the self checkout.

Fun fact: John Wayne Gacy (A midwestern serial killer) actually dumped five bodies into the Des Plaines River (which runs through Wisconsin and Illinois). Also, many of the most famous serial killers are from the midwest, such as H. H. Holmes, John Wayne Gacy, Ed Gein (the inspiration for the texas chainsaw massacre and psycho), and Jeffrey Dahmer (the Milwaukee Monster)

“You’re oddly nice for no reason?”
