  • Got tired of picking up the tongue on the trailer in tight situations and trying to move the trailer around. This will help me prevent injury and make my life easier. Due to the length of the videos, I broke it up into two parts. It is easier to keep the audio in sync that way.

    How did you drill the holes for the cotter keys in the axle?

    • @JohnHarmon
      @JohnHarmon  7 лет назад +5

      If you place two pieces of angle iron together so it forms a ^^ and place it in the middle, that will hold it for you. You then give yourself a start mark with a punch. After that I start drilling the hole with a center drill, and then switch to a regular drill bit after I have a significant start.

    I use my hand truck with either a trailer ball or even a piece of lumber to fit the trailer socket C clamped on as a kind trailer to hand truck of adapter. When I'm done moving the trailer, I take the adapter off and I have my usual hand truck again.

    Hello good evening how are you? I really liked your video, and one thing caught my eye! Your welding machine. What kind of machine is this? I would like to buy an equal because this makes a weld bead very well done and has the right distance of contact with the material to be welded. Thank you.

  • @kuhrd

    +John Harmon - Cold Creek Works Not sure what your editing workflow and software settings look like but if you are having issues with audio sync, try running your exported camera video through handbrake keeping the format and settings the same except for checking constant bit-rate rather than variable bit-rate before importing the video into your editing software and see if that fixes your audio sync issues. I know that I have to do that for some of my cameras that don't allow me to change record settings. If this works and you have then identified the issue you can try changing the file format the camera is recording in and see if another format records in constant bit-rate or just add handbrake as an extra step in the workflow since handbrake can be automated to some extent.

    • @JohnHarmon
      @JohnHarmon  8 лет назад

      +kuhrd I need to try it through handbrake first. I have thought about it but haven't tried it. I just record things from my cel phone... that is the only camera I have. I don't have any real options for adjusting the record settings. If I export the video in 44100 Hz then things usually play pretty nice, but it isn't perfect. Maybe my next set I can try passing them through handbrake first.

    • @kuhrd
      @kuhrd 8 лет назад

      +John Harmon - Cold Creek Works Can't hurt to give it a try. Handbrake can also give you some extra options to export in formats that may be easier to edit in if you happen to be editing your video on a computer later on. It all depends on your video workflow and software as to what your best option is. I typically use either Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas depending on how much editing I need to do to the video.
      Good luck and keep up the great videos!

      @@JohnHarmon John could you maybe please list the parts you are using in the description for your trailer dolly. Im going to build one of these with some 2.5” / .25 wall scrap tube I just got. I have a 20” piece for the main horizontal tube and wonder if that will be ok with 10” harbor freight wheels. So that will give an approximate 24” wheelbase. Are you using 10” or 13” wheels? Anyway, basic info would help me greatly. Thank you!
