Oh my gosh, I’m so grateful they didn’t go with this. It’s the same reason why Windwaker’s graphics aged better than Twilight Princess. Higher fidelity doesn’t necessarily equate to a better art direction. Now, Borderlands is iconic, recognizable, unique. At the very least, it’s more interesting to look at, this looks more like every other generic shooter to come out in 2009.
This is yet another generic game. What art style they did instead was brilliant. I pity though what Ubisoft did to Splinter Cell Conviction. Look up th original fameplay from the E3 where the wanted Sam Fisher was stealthing around as a hobo with longer hair and a beard.
@Pachakuti [パチャクテ] just didn’t like the art style of borderlands and why I couldn’t get into it, I just think this looks better. Personal opinion, not a big deal who cares.
Wow, they made the right choice. The sort of blurry, overly soft/smooth looking PS3/360 era realism, hasn’t aged well. I LOVE BL1, to this day. BL2 is a better game overall, but the isolated and lonely atmosphere of part 1 was great.
I feel like the final, cartoony style has aged a lot better than this would have.
Agreed. It’s the same way Windwaker aged better than Twilight Princess.
Definitely. It would've just been Rage without it lol
Now compare this to what they did to Borderlands 3...
This looks awesome!
I remember this completely. the rakk hive and all. I am glad they went with the cell shaded instead. it aged far better.
In another timeline this was the game we got and the current model for Lilith is the badguy 🤣
Well Lilith is partly responsible for Hansome Jack's Evil side so...
@@borderlandsglitches *Punches Hansom Jack in the face, leaves and dusts off hands*
Lilith: My job here is done.
@@CaptainPositron And never mentions it again.. 😂
Glad they gave it a more memorable style than this. Just wish they had a consistent tone and the loot system wasn't tedious.
You mean...Tediore? I will escort myself out
@@Mynostrum I THINK YOU MEAN TORGUE... EXPLOSIIIIONS?
People are gonna act euphoric over the cell shading now.

Sounds like Elsie Bray…
This looks closer to a Wasteland gamr. What came out sure did have lots more personality, not sure if that's a positive.

They should have made the movie like this instead we get a crappy live Acton parody
This looks better
@Pachakuti [パチャクテ] it doesn't need to stand out to be a good game
@Pachakuti [パチャクテ] Agreed, I would even go so far as to say that this doesn’t actually look better.
Nah
@Pachakuti [パチャクテ] just didn’t like the art style of borderlands and why I couldn’t get into it, I just think this looks better. Personal opinion, not a big deal who cares.
@Pachakuti [パチャクテ] Not really.
