So I'm not stupid afterall. I work in finance and have to proofread my own work prior to sending it off to other folks for review. It's so much easier proofreading other people's work as opposed to your own. I'm always dumbfounded at some of the simple mistakes I make that I don't catch that others do catch. Great video.
Hey, I am a writing tutor at a uni and found these tips very useful. I will pass them on to some of my tutees thank you. It is interesting how we create a mental image of our writing, so breaking up the image is really worth it.
I'm a content writer and after writing and editing when I sent my work to the client, they came up with numerous mistakes. I edited rigorously for a day. But then the next day I got new but more silly typos and grammar mistakes. It was disheartening. Thanks God. I got this video. The introduction itself helps me to feel good by thinking I'm not dumb or poor writer. It's this way for everyone on the earth. Thank you so much. I'm going to edit the content again.
Basically, you have cleverly summarized all the mistakes I made when I painstakingly wrote scientific articles, ... some of which were rejected because I misread them. Yes, scrutinizing a whole text on a computer screen only leads to disaster because it is very difficult to correct mistakes on the screen. I did not have a chance to view your video in due time. It's too late for my papers because I am retired and no longer have the possibility of domiciling anything in a recognized laboratory. But others will benefit from your clear and limpid didactic method. It is never too late for young people to learn to proofread before sending articles and or texts to the guillotine! Thank you so much.
I also read in syllables. I began teaching my kids to do it so they could do well on their spelling tests. My oldest is now 18 and we do it all the time as a family. It almost sounds like we're speaking another language to anyone who doesn't know what we're saying. 😉
I love grammarly. It was free for the college students at my job. Do you know some students didn’t take advantage of grammarly for free? Grammarly also has a plagiarism checker. You are spot on with your suggestions. I was a college professor, advisor, and academic specialist, and what you suggest, is what I would tell my students. You benefit by having another set of eyes on your document period! Lol
Your method is impeccable because we can follow thanks to the inlaid text (and the pictures) despite the speed at which the English speak. Yet you speak quite slowly (compared to the English of the BBC journalists) and we very much appreciate that.

Cheryl, the passive voice is an integral part of English. Like any element of the language, there are places where it must be used and places where it doesn't belong. I did this video on it: ruclips.net/video/NrU-NWS3X90/видео.html
Vanessa: The premium version allows you to select American, British, Canadian, or Australian English. Since the largest number of English speakers in the world (in India) speak a form of British English, as do most of the African countries, premium Grammarly covers most dialects of English.
