To be fair to gen 1, most games would just crash if you did similar things like what you do in red and blue. It's crazy that missing no doesn't just crash the game. That being said, duct tape and prayers is accurate
I love the direction your channel took with all those videos about facts and pokemon trivia. its honestly one of the most interesting things I watch on youtube nowadays, after top 10s and stuff like that got a bit overused. keep up the good work!
I like how the npc you're pushing around sometimes looks at the player like "dude give me some space wtf do you want" and the player is like "I wanna step on u"😩
Honestly, I clicked this video expecting that I would know these glitches because I have seen sooooo many Gen 1 glitches, but I am impressed that I didnt know a few haha
My cousin showed me the cycling road glitch when I was five. I thought it was awesome that we can get a bike out of seemingly nowhere. He made sure to show me that he didn't get the voucher yet before using the glitch. It is one of my favorite to go back to every so often.
1: I knew about the Safari Zone trick, and that there's various ways to have fun with it, but I didn't know about that specific thing you could do. 2: This I knew about. You can do something similar to Surf through a statue in Lance's room to be able to backtrack to Agatha's room, but you can't backtrack from her room to Bruno's, so it's kinda pointless there, but it's still cool. 3: Knew about this as well. Resetting like this also resets the counter for poison damage. 4: Knew about this one, I've done it myself a couple of times. 5: I do this all the time if I'm playing on... well, if I have the option to fast forward. 6: Knew this one. Very helpful if I'm doing the Mew glitch and using wild mons in Pokémon Tower to determine what I run into before having gotten the Silph Scope, but still want to know if I'm looking at the Special stat of a Cubone or a Gastly. 7: Knew this one, have seen it work to my advantage. Swift will still hit, though, since in Gen 1 it hits Pokémon that are in the middle of Fly or Dig. 8: I knew of this one, never tried it, but always wanted to. The required glitch Pokémon in question are 'M with the appearance of a Charizard (in Red and Blue), and Q in Yellow. Neither can be directly caught- you have to catch a glitch Pokémon in Yellow called 44hy, which evolves into Q at level... I want to say 7. And if you trade Q to Red or Blue, it becomes the Charizard 'M. 9: Didn't know about this specific use for it, but I can tell it's related to the PC cloning glitch that's... technically doable in Gen 1, but it's more popular in Gen 2, since in that gen there's less of a risk of corrupting the save that way. ...if you haven't guessed by this point, Pokémon glitches are something of a passion of mine. :)
I knew all of these except the NPC sprites on the first one (I did know about the Safari Zone/spinning part of the glitch). I did forget about the invincibility glitch too, though I had at least learned that before. Also, did you know that you can use that fusion/merging glitch to give your Pikachu Surf in Yellow and play that mini game with it?
The best glitch in Gen 1 is the badge boost glitch. I have no problem getting Leered if that means they're setting me up for a sweep. The best part is that it's unavoidable.
HoopsandHipHop: *talks about a sponser* Me: watch it be Raid Shadow Legends (laughs a bit at my joke) HoopsandHipHop: "Raid Shadow Legends-" Me: (stops laughing at the joke) I-I never saw that coming...
Just discovered your channel, I really like the way you do your videos! Keep it up, you earned a sub from me my dude! And yes I would love to see more of these glitchy videos for other generations as well :)
Okay, try me, I have heard of most of them, probably. 1. Okay, I knew about a couple of things to do with that Safari Zone glitch, but I didn't know the sprite of the player could change. 2. Yeah, I knew that. Did that a couple of times. 3. Already knew that as well. 4. Yep, knew that as well. 5. I used that in my Nuzlockes, cause I didn't bother getting the bike xD 6. Yeah, knew that. 7. I only figured that out recently, by myself, while doing a challenge run. So yeah, knew that. 8. Yeah, I knew there was a glitch like that, never knew how exactly it worked though. 9. Yeah, the save system was really glitchy, not only in Gen 1. Gen 2 had similar stuff. Didn't really specifically know about this one though. Gen 1 really is held together by cello tape and hopes and dreams...
The description of the “Pokémon Fusion” glitch in this video is inadequate and possibly incorrect. - The setup shown is correct (except for using the wrong Glitch Pokémon, see below), but after arranging your party like this, you need to deposit the top Pokémon to fuse the rest of the team. - A specific Glitch Pokémon that is not MissingNo. is needed to activate the glitch. In Red and Blue, the needed Glitch Pokémon is named # ‘M # and looks like a Charizard. (The # represent glitch blocks that change depending on what is onscreen). It must be the one that looks like a Charizard, not the one (shown in the video) that looks like a MissingNo. but is named # ‘M #, nor the other one that kind of looks like upside down MissingNo. In Yellow, the needed Glitch Pokémon is named Q📐, and is obtained by evolving the Glitch Pokémon named 44 Hy. Neither Charizard ‘M nor Q📐 can be caught using the Mew Glitch or the Old Man glitch. (Attempting to fight it using the Mew Glitch will instead bring up a glitch Trainer, and might cause the ZZAZZ Glitch.) In Yellow, you can catch 44 Hy using the Mew Glitch and evolve it, but in Red and Blue, you will need to use a glitch that changes the enemy Pokémon while in battle, or just trade over a Q📐 from Yellow.
All I need was the Mew Glitch since it is literally unobtainable outside of glitching. Same goes for coin case glitch for Celebi in Gen 2 since prior to Crystal Virtual Console, just like Mew from Gen 1, there is literally no way to obtain Celebi outside of glitching.
fun fact: you can't normally surf on cycling road but with the "??????"-item (usually just called surfboard" that is left in the code you can. and going from water to land puts you in normal walking state. no bike. you still get pushed down though
Guess Pokémon Yellow is no longer my best friend as that final glitch you mentioned took that spot. As in save and overwrite a previous save file and immediately reset before it gets a chance to save. Time to get all the starters that way.

My brother and I actually stumbled onto a cloning glitch for the original gold and silver games for the Game Boy! You can use it to clone Pokémon and the items they’re holding, including Master Balls!! I’m not entirely sure but I think it goes something like this: go to the PC in any Pokémon Center and deposit the Pokémon (to clone an item you’ll need to give it to a Pokémon and then deposit that Pokémon into an almost full box which will fill the box) into a almost full box to fill it up, then, you select switch boxes on the PC menu. After you select which box you wanna switch to the game will ask you do you want to save your game?, then select yes and lastly right as the text in the text box says “saving do not turn off the game”, turn it off and then on again once in a rapid, fluid motion and when you open up your PKMN storage system on the computer you’ll see that in the new box that you switched to is the Pokémon and held item you gave it have been cloned from the original you put in the first box! A little side note, it’s been twenty plus years since I’ve performed this cheat so I’m pretty sure that is how it’s done but I can’t say for absolute certainty!! I just remember my brother and I using this to clone the one master ball you get as well as EXP Shares as well as other things like Leftovers and other stuff!!!! GOOD TIMES!!! ENJOY!!!
I've only done that last glitch once and by complete freak accident. I tried for a really long time to figure out how I did it and suspected that unlike the gen 2 games, you had to turn off the game exactly at the right millisecond or it wouldn't work but I was never able to do it again. I remember that I somehow turned off the game right when the saved game tone started but before it ended because right before I turned my gameboy off I heard just the sliver of a beep. I was really happy because it meant I got to keep my favorite pokemon, a nearly invincible Lapris, but it wouldn't obey me until really late in the game.
Hey HoopsandHipHop - here's another glitch I stumbled upon the past few days after firing up Pokemon Yellow again. I haven't seen this one mentioned in any video and I dunno if you've run into this but I did as well back when red and blue were released as well. If you use Substitute (my clefable knows it - but I don't think the pokemon matters) and the opposing pokemon uses Self Destruct (or Explosion) and your substitute breaks - it will say your OPPONENT's substitute broke (who doesnt even know the move and I don't think it matters if the sub broke or not!) and they can use Explosion/SD as many times as they want and doesn't faint. However, their sprite will reappear after attacking and can be defeated as long as you take them out before they use SD or Explosion again (which they can continue to do over and over causing massive damage if your Def stats or Lv isn't high). Annoying huh? 😤
Is the SS Anne glitch really that unknown? I thought that was the glitch that you had to use in order to examine the pickup truck that supposedly had Mew hiding under it.
Fusing move glitch is more effective in pokemon gen 2, item duplication glitch, once u fully understand u can do crazy stuff, i gor my executor with surf and thunder.
Raid shadow legends is so cool I'm going to put it on my android so I can play it. I never played it. Also it's cool that a glitch would allow you to be Professor Oak.
1:08 And I bet you like it for it's gameplay not because they keep sponsoring you. (It's ok. You don't have to say anything to jeopardize the sponsorship. We all know the game is pay to win trash but it pays the bills for you.)

The game just seems like garbage to me.. and am sure it probably does for everyone else as well too. but then... what about that old saying about judging a book by its cover? am not saying its good... but only to address that it COULD be good. what if it IS good?
A glitch I vividly remember as a kid that I really don't see many people talk about is the "stage 4" glitch (I don't quite know the official name so I'm calling it that).
