How we incubate turtle eggs

This is how we incubate our turtle eggs, we use equal parts of vermiculite and water, pop holes in the container, store them in a shoe box so they stay nice and dark and check on them as we get closer to the usual 60 day incubation period. These are 3 toed box turtles emerging!

How do you keep the vermiculite humid ?

We add water when we set it up then spray it regularly as it dries out. You can keep a small container with water in the incubator also to keep it humid
