Hello, I am trying to incubate tortoise egg in home made incubator. Humidity is about 75%. But I have to almost open the lid. Do you think that it is ok when the humidity is not changing and temperature is 29°c with almost opened lid. Or i should try make more holes and let it closed? I don't know what to do.

I have 2 midland painted turtles (male and female) My female has layed 2 batches of eggs a set of 2 and a set of 4. On set of eggs were layed in her sand and the other set was layed in the water. I'm hoping we can get some fertilized eggs. If she lays do I put the lid on or off
No, you don’t really have a way to control temperature that way. Also eggs would have to be completely covered as light bulbs send out a wave length that would start to cook the egg.

I am assuming you put the lid on the cooler? Correct? I have yellow ear sliders I am trying to hatch out! Very excited.

Yenn S. No, no light. The aquarium heater warms the water, which warms the air, which warms the eggs.

How long it will takes to hatch the egg? I mean days? And the aquarium water heater. How does it works? I mean, is that plugged 24/7?
Depends on the species of turtle. 60days being the shortest. The water heats the air. Yes it stays plugged in.
