    all your tutorials are top notch, the cues and everything. I know because it took me years to get some deadlift cues down, took awhile to get the low bar squat and still trying to perfect bench but your videos are better than any other tutorials I have seen.

    Leg day in the morning I am definitely trying this out. I have once before but I didn’t understand all the fundamentals. Never could understand how everyone else was so much stronger than me on squats but yet I’m im much stronger and bigger on nearly most things at my gym including deadlifts. Pisses my ego off

    • @nickgrayy
      @nickgrayy 4 года назад

      n00bie it does seem a lot better on my lower back the thing that I have to get used to is my wrists when I grip close. The second day I done squats I was able to do 365 where as I been uncomfortably stuck at 315 which is matched with my bench and that’s ridiculous to have squat and bench the same strength. I’m 235 I should be much stronger on legs.

    • @camdenfoster8380
      @camdenfoster8380 4 года назад +1

      I would say a pretty large amount considering the thickness and length of the wrap. Stick to knee sleeves for joint health and to stay raw.

    At the end of the video, when you demonstrate 'chest up' (don't know if you exaggerated the position or not), doesn't this extend the lower spine too much? If your chest is too high, it seems that your lower back could hyperextend a bit too much. How do you know if your in this overly extended position?

    Wondering what your guys thoughts are on this. I've only tried low bar twice and it did seem more natural to me but I've kept with high bar.
    My goal is to squat 4 plates high bar and then switch to low bar and start competing in powerlifting.
    Is building this base a good idea or should I just switch to low bar now as it seems to suit my leverages a lot better

    • @CanditoTrainingHQ
      @CanditoTrainingHQ 4 года назад +4

      Just do low bar. EMG studies show minimal difference in activation, both lifts are still very much quad dominant, and whichever keeps you balanced better will likely have more predictable positive effects.

    • @silatguy
      @silatguy 4 года назад

      Im no Johnnie Candito but Im 6 2'. When I exclusively did high bar I got to a 500 squat and after trying low bar hit 515 after 3 squat workouts. I started getting good at it but then I felt like I wasnt getting as much back or quad activation and after switching to exclusively low bar my squat went back down 50lbs. Now I use mainly high bar and try the hardest variations and use low bar for quick peaking but that's just my anecdote and many people use it permanently successfully. I got weaker taking away highbar..
