To this day this is the best deadlift 101 video ever made. I wrote out all of the steps and I keep them in front of me every time I deadlift. I've literally changed from sumo to conventional as my strongest stance because of this video.
This is a fantastic tutorial Nick. So many small but extremely practical tips. I've always somewhat disliked my form on the deadlift so next time I work on it I will be following along with this video.
Nick, This video was the MOST helpful video ever seen on RUclips concerning the deadlift. The KEYS taken were (1) Bar should cut feet in half (2) Hold bar at end of fingers (3) Shoulder pushed back (4) Air to belly (5) Use glutes & hips to put body in erect position (6) Push body into position with your butt (7) Flex Quads. With so many USEFUL pointers I decide to make a list on my poster board in front of the place where I perform the deadlift. Thanks for the useful info. Army Vet 58 in best shape of my life
Because of your bench series I went from 285 to 305 and now I’m exited to see how much my deadlift will increase... thank you please never stop making videos... I get super exited every time you make a new upload
Phenomenal breakdown of all the small details that go into a big pull. It definitely helped me to be reminded of all these details as I think a lot of us tend to forget the small things that make up the big picture.
Dude... I've watched a LOT of videos in reference to proper DL technique. Finally, one that breaks it all the way down. All. The. Way. Appreciate the info.
Great video! I’ve been working on a road to 405 bench and I’m currently at 335 and I’m documenting it on my channel! I’ve been incorporating your tips from your recent bench videos and it’s been going great so far! Thanks you so much!
Nick dropping that high quality content as usual. This is honestly up to par with Jeff Nippard quality videos. Keep grinding bro I want to see this channel blow up to the exposure it deserves. Good shit bro 💪🏼
Wonderful tutorial... I'm 6'3" 260 lbs.... been lifting for 20 years, and this was a great refresher for me - we can always get better :). Definitely going to subscribe.
This has to be one of the best explanations on how to perform a deadlift, with clear instructions combined with useful camera angles. Also,u look massive man! Quality content🔥
This is a really good video. I think so many people could benefit from watching this. I like the way you simplified everything and reinforced your points. Well done dude.
One of the best DL tutorials I've seen to date. Really comprehensive. I know everyone sets up a little differently but one thing I would say, and only from my own experience, is that it's a lot easier to take a big belly full of air when you're not crouched into position.....especially if you're wearing a belt. I'll definitely be trying some of the cues from this. Great content!
Nick, this is one of the most informative and detailed deadlift video I ever come across!!!! Thank you for all the valuable information. Next Nick when you go for the big 600, try giving us a side view of the deadlift. Once again great information!!!!! 👍🏼
I've been looking for a simple series to recommend to people needing to learn the big three in a simple and effective manner. Definitely a good one. I'll probably begin directing folks here instead of where I had been
SMOKEDDDDD! Dude- been following you for a long time. Your progression is truly what helped me understand the translation of the importance of hypertrophy in powerlifting! 600x2 is cake!
This video is exactly what ppl need to see before they ever consider getting into strength sports. If I woulda seen this video when I was first starting I probably woulda prevented multiple injuries, very well up together, lost of very useful information🎥👌🏻💯
Thanks for this! I currently hit a 460 lift and want to make sure there are no mistakes before I go any heavier. I do everything you mentioned, but i think I need to pack my lats more.
Do squat bro great content happy to see ur getting more content out still. I remember watching u when I was a teen and starting out. You were one of the starting fitness RUclipsr’s
The Deadlift. 1 Cut feet in half with bar 2 Determine foot width using vertical jump stance 3 Lower shins to bar by bending knees 4 Visualize straight spine of steel 5 Move hips back to lower torso and grab bar 6 Inhale deep into belly, bracing outwards 7 Use lats to pull scapulae into back pockets 8 Lift bar to knees by pushing the ground with legs 9 Drive glutes forward to lift torso like long jump Thank you Nick
good info Nick, thanks for sharing. I use weightlifting shoes, used to do wrestling shoes, before that barefoot, and I highly recommend a legit pair of lifting shoes.
First rule of thumb is work on your deadlifts untill your pant tears and puts hole in it 7:02 But tbh really good information got everything covered in a single video.
Having the bar in my fingers is what cause my medial epicondalytis and almost stopped my lifting when it began. Maybe for a more advanced lifter than I am there wouldn’t be issues but for me that got me hurt.

Appreciate you watching and commenting my man!
Judging from the thumbnail... I would say the key is short shorts... and I got plenty of those! LEG GAINS!!!
I cheated and took the picture in box shorts :(
You've found your calling! some of the best info I've ever seen on the deadlift in one video

This dude really said not to deadlift in sneakers and then held up the exact pair shoes I wear to the gym lmfao
