In ‘Bondi Rescue’ the audience sees the action through the eyes of real characters and lifeguards like Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Jesse, Maxy, Whippet and Harries, as they catch thieves, perform CPR, make drug busts, break up fights, and even handle a navy bomb that washes ashore one afternoon. Every year throws up new and completely unexpected challenges, and how lifeguards adapt is what makes Bondi Rescue a show that’s about much more than swimmers being saved in the surf.

It’s funny. The Asians who were wearing their shoes, in most Asians countries Water Proof shoes are always used in water. Whether it’s beaches or water parks. I guess it makes sense to avoid cuts on your feet, especially at the beach.

No we don’t call shoes thongs. We call shoes shoes but there are different types of shoes. Like joggers sandals or thongs. Americans call them flip flops if that helps 🤷♀️

I live in America, but my family always called flip flops thongs, it’s so strange to me that some people call it something different. It wasn’t until I joined a swim team I learned that most in the US call them flip flops
When i was little i called flip flops, thongs. So its not just an australian thing but not many people here call it that 😂

When I was a little kid on vacation I got “rescued” by a lifeguard in a pool, but I wasn’t really drowning I just lost my shoe in the deep end and I kept trying to swim down and grab it I was too embarrassed tho after he started trying to “rescue” me so I just went with it lol.

Emily Erickson yeah after the lifeguard left my dad was still fussing over me and I told him I wasn’t drowning I just wanted my shoe and I asked him to please get it for me. He was pretty angry cause after he saw the lifeguard pulling me out he totally felt bad that he hadn’t been watching me(I could swim so he didn’t think he had to lol)

Most telly is boring here in Melbourne, but I love watching Bondi Rescue every night it’s on and even repeats, lol, and I still enjoy them. Great viewing, fun bits and it’s great when you catch the bad guys.
Many say they watch the show from overseas and come to visit, so it fascinates me how they still haven’t got the message - Swim Between The Flags. 😱
So how can you get it across, there has to be something that terrifies them, sadly, so they don’t swim there. Thinking caps on boys.
I’d stand, no sit in flag spot as I’m 65 and deserves the luxury of a comfy chair lol, in the sun with a beach brolly, a cool drink and glare at them. My glare apparently still frightens my 36 year old son. I only do it to him now for fun, but he now covers his eyes and laughs lol. You just need someone up the other end. Maybe another old lady with a super frightening talent lol 😂
Watching Bondi's Lifeguards has become my new favorite past time.

From Ireland and yeah, I can confirm. We have a lot of nice sandy beaches but a good few rocky ones as well. Learned to wear water shoes on those ones after a while because my feet would be destroyed.

Growing up surrounded by lakes in America (I'm in Michigan), it's super common to wear shoes in the water. NOT thong sandals (we call them flip flops), but we have legit water shoes because of the rocky or murky bottoms of the lakes.

Today I had to save a Asian man that was struggling in the surf so me and my friend saw him yelling and waving his arms and I swam over to him and pulled him on my board and brang him to shore. Me being 15 years old and trying to get a fully grown man back to shore was not easy anyway he thanked me after and all way good. East coast Australia
