Me and my friend were sitting on a paddle board being pulled out by the current we were trying to swim back to shore but we just couldn’t. So we started panicking and fell off the paddle board, we were on the rocks and my friend cut her toe open. Obviously I started panicking because blood attracts sharks and we were pretty far out (we are Australian and this happen in Australia) thank god for the life guard who saved our life’s. From potential death people don’t realise how they sacrifice they’re own life trying to save others!

Man, I've spent my whole life here in Colorado, so I'm not the strongest swimmer. I'll swim in SoFlo beaches where it's really calm, but when I go to Cali... no way am I going in past my knees. People need to understand rip currents before going in the water. Mad respect to these lifeguards down under.

This is so amazing to see. I was rescued by a lifeguard this last summer. Cool to see behind the scenes. Once you start to panic it feels impossible to swim. I’m soooo thankful these people exist or else there would be so many deaths at the beach. You’d be surprised how strong the waves can get. I got pulled so far out in the ocean.

I am so glad my mom put me in swimming lessons and I even could’ve done lifeguarding (I didn’t) but I am so glad... so I know what to do and how to swim...
And all of my life waves served as a life guard bringing me to shore when I couldn’t swim because I had no energy. Also, at a pool party when I was 3, I felll in the water without my floaties and thanks to my aunt’s neighbor, Dawn, I got lifted up out of the water. THX DAWN!
For anyone who thinks this is dramatic, this is really serious. Bondi beach is really the most unpredicted water I've ever experienced. It looks normal on shore, but it's a whole different world when you jump in. It was much deeper (in an unexpected way) comparing to many tropical beach I've been in. And the rip tide is scary, you see the wave coming thinking it's pushing in, but it actually grabs your legs and pulls you underwater and out. So kudos to these life guards

I rescue process in my country is completely different , I loved how they're well equipped , they got good communication between them and great team work , they work really fast and efficient , and making the right decisions at the right time , cheers to them

Yeah in Asia swimming lessons seem to be non existent en ppl are surprised in most Western countries kids gotta be able to swim in Asia not so much as you could see the Dutch tourist was able to keep calm and his head above water you can't swim aoganst the current but it does help to be a good swimmer
Timmie Kat most Japanese people learn at under a year old. I learned at 8 months. Don’t generalize. Tons of people can’t swim from every race. Especially where there aren’t large bodies of water. Educate yourself.

Because they are not educated enough. What a rip etc is iam a volunteer lifeguard in Germany and this is the main problem .. were are on duty in lake and people dont realize that it also can be dangerous
Yeah in Asia swimming lessons seem to be non existent en ppl are surprised in most Western countries kids gotta be able to swim in Asia not so much as you could see the Dutch tourist was able to keep calm and his head above water you can't swim aoganst the current but it does help to be a good swimmer

Timmie Kat most Japanese people learn at under a year old. I learned at 8 months. Don’t generalize. Tons of people can’t swim from every race. Especially where there aren’t large bodies of water. Educate yourself.
