The think it's worth pointing out that the context of Uzzia's death is not because times were chaotic. After all Uzzia's son Jotham had served as co-regaent and was ready to take over. What's important is King Uzzia got leprosy because he had attempted to bring an offering of incense (much like Miriam received leprosy when she criticised Moses). To bring an offering of incense meant you had to go past the Altar of Burnt Offerings up to the curtain of the most Holy. Isaiah had good reason to believe he was in trouble. The seraphim (flaming ones) solved the problem by touching his lips with a burning coal from the altar.
