That is not well stated. He is not stepping down, as in leaving the Presidency. He is just not seeking reelection.
The very first line “president Joe Biden has withdrawn from the election race” - next time be less keen to show strangers online that you learned the difference between stepping down and not seeking re election in the last week and instead respond to the actual stuff in the video. Thanks

California's not up for grabs but Michigan is, so it should be Harris/Whitmer. Since there have been all male presidential tickets before this would seem to be in order. There is an emerging consensus that women are competent human beings who can do stuff.
Importantly, Harris won't betray Ukraine, as Putin's asset would on day one. This would give Europe more time to establish a fully independent security capacity should it need one soon.

I agree strongly that the debate was largely the beginning of the end, and also the middle of the end. It was the biggest single factor in all of this by far.
Also agreed that he had a great speech the very next day. The next day was scripted, yes, and I don’t mean to imply a nap was the difference between these two major arcs of history- but I think if that specific performance hadn’t happened, the pressure would not have boiled high enough that this would have happened.

David Cay Johnston lives in a bubble. Inflation and high interest rates are creating a big economic problem in the U.S. Yes, unemployment is fairly low but not for U.S. citizens. The Dept. of Labor releases corrective updates to the level report every other month. Unemployment for U.S. citizens has actually gone up above 5% while for immigrants (residents/work visas) is down to 3% or less depending on the month. Food prices which aren’t counted in the monthly inflation report are really high. Restaurants are starting to shut down. Interest rates for mortgages and loans are very high.
And Trump giving out tax cuts to the wealthy will solve that?
