A viewer from Moldova sent me a photo of this hairstyle that I thought was very unique. She asked if I could replicate it, and it took me several hours to do so. It is very much like a Dutch Braid, only you are knotting rather than braiding.

I wish there was a "LOVE" button!! I have seen just about every one of your videos. My daughter does not stay as still as yours do. But it is a work in progress. Thanks for the tutorial! Last year, a girl I go to school with did a knotted side braid, like this, except it wasn't the French version, and I loved it, but her hair is down to her waist, and my hair isn't that long, but, this I can do on my hair! Thank you so much, Mindy! I will have to have my mom do this on my hair on Saturday!
I watched the video today and as soon as my daughter got home from school, I sat her down and did it. It took longer to brush out her hair than it did to complete this look. AND it looks AMAZING! Thank you for sharing it. I'm going to attempt it on myself later tonight. :)

I haven't tried this beautiful braid yet but I've done lots of different braids and intricate up do's. I'm sure if you take out one knot at a time you should be fine. Depending on the texture of you hair, doing big knots shouldn't tangle or mess up your hair. Also depending on the sensitivity of your scalp it should feel the same as taking down a ponytail or other braid. By the way... LOVE LOVE this chanel!!

I love this braid ,i have been doing this braid since I was in my teens & when my girls (now 17 & 20) hair got long enogh I started using this braid on them.I love it love it love it!!!!!

Wow thats a very unusual look. It also looks like its gonna stay in pretty well. I have a 4yr old grandchild who likes to wear lots of your creations =) When we choose a style I always want to keep in mind how long the style will stay. A day in preK including sometimes a nap can be hard on a hairstyle! We like her hair to stay neat & out of her lil eyes but still be fun for her & nice looking That way mommy is willing to keep my g/d's hair long-You help us all get what we want! hugs, Nana =)

This is really pretty! It reminds of a French ladder, but with that little twist. The only thing is, does it cause damage since it's pushing strands up against the grain of the hair shaft?
