    Hi! Is this cutting foam or coroplast? Thanks !

      Hello- In the video I'm cutting wood. I have cut EVA foam with laser diodes- works very well! I haven't tried to cut corplast due the white color being harder to cut along with smoke and high fire risk.

    Very informative video for me, as I have just ordered a Mecpow X5 and am looking for videos that will help me to learn how to run the machine when it arrives. One quick question.. are the glasses that come with the machine of the appropriate type for proper eye protection? I have heard some youtubers say that there are much better ones available to purchase. Thanks for the information.

      Thanks! Safety glasses- I use them around the machine when I'm not using an enclosure. Even with safety glasses, any safety glasses, I never look directly at the laser. I haven't looked into a higher grade of glasses.

    Hello. I need a little of your guidance here. I seen some of your videos and i know you also made a video on the MecPow. I need to buy either the Longer Ray5 or the Mecpow like right now, but I dont know exactly which to choose. What do you sugest for a beginner like me? Would appreciate it

    • @thelaserchannel1

      Hi- I haven't ran the Longer Ray5 so I can't say. What I can offer is a recommendation to purchase a honeycomb panel and air assist. The air assist will really help when cutting and will keep the lens cleaner longer. Touch screens- I really don't use them and I don't run the machines without a computer so for me the touch screen looks nice but I don't use them. Hope this helps!

    Awesome tutorial! I just got one of these to replace an Ortur LM2. I have tried to reset Lightburn..and I have even tried to Uninstalled delete all the bavkup files and old files..and re-installed lightburn again. It recognizes the laser and adds it with no problem, but it goes right back to the old settings. So im getting all kinds of errors and I'm not able to do anything. Do you know where i can find all the default factory settings for lightburn? The machine and device settings seem to be way out of whack. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi- I have not ran across that issue. Maybe check that the firmware is up to date. Here's the Mecpow page with all the software downloads:mecpow.com/pages/download-center

      @@thelaserchannel1 that is the same link that I tried before on 2 separate computers with no luck. I reached out to Mecpow and they sent me the same link and told me how to click on a "non working button" and just update the firmware to fix the problem. Their other suggestion was to go to my device and machine settings to manually reset whatever error Im getting. As if I would have any clue as to what the correct setting is suppose to be. I have to say their support team has been disappointing. Do you by chance have the Lightburn settings for this particular laser? I have screenshots of the settings I have..but now way to post them on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      @@loriebackus2844 I think the best thing to do is check over the Mecpow Facebook group- you'll be able to post photos of the errors and settings- here's the link : facebook.com/groups/mecpow

    Do you have to have the tray? the one I ordered didn't come with it.

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  Год назад

      Hi- by tray do you mean the what's under the laser machine? My machine did not come with the honeycomb bundle- if you're looking for something to protect your work surface I recommend heavy duty aluminum foil- just draw out long section and fold in half with the dull side face up towards the laser. Here's a link- there's two sizes available:

      @@thelaserchannel1 I followed your steps exactly, using lightburn, set to 100, power 0 and it moves as slow as a turtle

    • @thelaserchannel1

      @@sonofableep13 I wonder if your speed is set to mm/m rather than mm/s. If you're in mm/m you can use a speed of 6,000 mm/m and that will be the same as 100 mm/s.

      @@thelaserchannel1 hey that’s it I just noticed that thank you so much! Also I am seeing each individual line (I’m just marking metal) do I need to raise the diode up a bit more?

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  Год назад +1

      Great- glad your speed is working! Make sure your laser is focused correctly per the manual setup. If you're seeing individual lines of the engraving try increasing the Lines Per Inch to something like 250-400. Best wishes!
