I'm making a handle for a sword I was gifted. It has a plastic handle, and rather than a full tang, it was literally a thin round bar that had threading for the pommel to keep it together. Needless to say I got lawn mower blades and welding machine, thanks for the advice and wish me luck on my first actual full tang handle build 😂
Word to the wise......cover that blade with painters tape when working on handle or sooner or later she’s gonna open you up! Really good video on making handle, thanks.
I never would have guessed there are so many people in the world who don't know how to turn off the sound on their computer/device. I liked the music, and will shazam it later to add to my library. Nice work, thanks for sharing, I learned from the video, which is what it's all about, right?
Nice. As others have mentioned use some gloves, just in case. You can get high tactile gloves and over time you don't even notice that you're wearing them. Also wrap the blade using painter's tape to protect yourself from the blade and to protect the blade from an accidental belt hit.
wear gloves bud. I was doing the same and found out a bad edge can kick and send you to the ER. 5 internal stitches and 15 outer. luckily no tendons. did get to the bone on my pinker side.
billysiniraq completely agree with you, although I definitely use gloves while grinding. I wear fleece lined, nitrile coated so they're warm and waterproof (I live in Canada, gets -30 here easily and I grind outdoors, I use the snow to cool the steel as I work haha.)
Say Heah, WoW, Amazing, Yeah, My new Bushcraft Knife Paul'ies Pride I designed and commisioned William Collins to make. It's a 4 3/4" blade and 5/32" thick. But with White G-10 Handles with Red, White and Blue Liners. I also had the Drop Point Lowered similar to Iz Turley Gasconade similar to yours. I posted up-dated pictures on my Google Plus. Yeah very similar.,,. p
Great knife! Did you make the blade yourself? The finish on the handle is really good :) The video quality and edit are also really good. Very long video but you made it interesting to watch :)
Sven Davison Brass rod, you can probably get some at your local metalworking store. To grind them, he probably uses the same sanding belt he's using for wood, it's not very hard of a metal.
+Building with Brander thank you(: i didnt get the blade, i made it from O1 steel but that was before i made a decision to film a knife making video soon i will make full knife making videos
Nice handle! In and around the 8 minute mark, what type of sanding strips are you using? Did you cut them yourself from a larger sheet, or do they come like that? Thanks!
Came for the knife, stayed for the music.. Good job
Yeah! Some GREAT guitar.

Nah
Very Basic..would have looked better with a brass bolster
Respect for the Pearl Jam, Eddie and finished off with some Bon Iver. Good video.

Nah
Nice vid. Loved the music. Subscribed
good job - nice music.
should have taped the blade when you were doing the handle work. but amazing work regardless.
Asking for trouble with bare blade-carelessness
PUSSY!
Cracking video, not sure who the 31 miserable people are that didn't like it!?
Decent

nice knife. you did really well.
Dan Templeton , sorry to hear about your injury. What process specifically are you suggesting gloves for?
Dan Templeton
l wear on all jobs , protects me from grinder gouged thumbs cause the machines give no mercy 😟
If it spins you don't wear gloves. It's better to burn/cut/hurt/etc than to deglove or break a hand.

+knives&stuff
Thanks bro !
yes i made the blade myself and I know the video is a bit to long but I really wanted to focus on the handle making
Is that white stuff just grease for the pins to slide easier?
did you drill both parts of the handle together ?
that's a good job, what kind of wood is that?
People, ☝️🧐 wrap the blade so you don't fillet your hand or scuff up the blade! Be safe. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Great video. Whats the type of your belt sander? are you using it also for blades?
Where do you get the pins to hold it together.. annnd.. what did you use to grind them down? That part appears to have been skipped in the video.

How are you not getting sued over the music?!
Well done, where did you get the blade from?
+Building with Brander
thank you(:

soon i will make full knife making videos
+Core Axe That's even cooler!! great job man!
Make it wooden with the help of the Woodglut instructions.
Nice handle! In and around the 8 minute mark, what type of sanding strips are you using? Did you cut them yourself from a larger sheet, or do they come like that? Thanks!
Tim Buchinger probably from those small belt grinders 1 x 24 or something like that
I know you can find solutions to this problem in the Woodprix plans.
Can you go slower on drilling, please? Can you use more wd40 on wood? Thank you.
I think that the handle is good by the blade could be better😅
Ditch the music , add cometary. Good video audio spoils it.
Matter of taste, I suppose.....I love this music, of course, all opinions count!
Kill the music. Can't see much. Comments would be great and would answer a lot of the questions.
Tape on Blade when fixing handle safety tape off working on sanding? Pretty foolish and unsafe.
Music ! FAR TO LOUD ! Distracting, spoiled my enjoyment of the video, and frankly; was unnecessary!
Waste of time.
