We're about to have the pool in our (new to us) home renovated to the tune of just under $20K. The contract has a couple of clauses that read "for the warranty to apply, customer must maintain pool chemistry to industry standards". Aside from the fact that they don't even state what those standards are, I would have to rely on the unskills of the pool service guys (they change periodically) to assure that the chemistry is not going to get out of whack and destroy the new quartz surfacing. I appreciate the great review, especially that you mentioned the Hayward auto dispensing equipment. I will definitely be checking that out. We're in Florida, so having three tests a day all year round doesn't trouble me, though I see you your point about wasting money on unnecessary tests during the winter. Thanks for the review!

I had my pool resurfaced, water line tiled and coping done 2 years ago. Pebbletec warranty said the same thing, that in order to claim the warranty I'd need to provide weekly testing results from a licensed professional. I bit the bullet and hired a company, they were great and thankfully never needed to trigger that warranty. Now I'm buying a sutro and hopefully saving money long term vs paying $150 a month for pool service.

Great video. One correction pH is not measured in ppm.

i know they actually make money from the subscription, but i think testing 3 times a day is really excessive, does an average pool owner need to test that often? i don't think so. I wish we can change how frequently we can test, i think 2-3 times a week is fine for an average pool

How does this compare to the waterguru sense 2? Which one is better?

      I haven’t tested, so I’m not sure.

You lost me at $499 with features locked behind a paid subscription. NEXT!

Indeed, it's pricey! Of course, the subscription is also for the replacement cartridges, but overall cost is the biggest drawback vs. competitors.
