You'd think a game designed to have been a Switch exclusive would have run at least at locked 30 with no dips. It's almost like they always intended it to be a PS5/XBOX game but were maybe bound by some sort of financial agreement to make it exclusive for a time.
I believe personally that the game was originally developed with current gen in mind, they probably had some obligation or contract for switch exclusivity first. The game being developed on unreal engine 4 kinda corraborates my theory in that it is a very malleable engine allowing developers to quickly upscale textures and essentially churn out a quick port once their supposed contract expires etc.
No not really. The original release was marketed and locked behind the switch since smt had sold well on nintendo consoles than ps/xbox. First marketing started when the game was announced on the switch reveal back in 2017. This is just atlus testing if the games would sell well beyond exclusivity like they did for persona.

Probably means visuals as in the load on the system. For example a big setpiece from uncharted may have many elements that weight on the GPU. SmtV is spectacularly beautiful while also not needing a lot of assets. Still a bit demeaning when Redfall was a far worse performing product that DEFINITELY looks worse.

Honestly, I’ve noticed Unreal Engine 4 games in general are just a bit outside of the Switch’s scope. It can run them obviously, but it’s noticeable at times when the hardware holds it back. That being said, I’m a story over graphics/frame rate person when it comes to RPGs, good graphics/frames are nice but so as long as the game isn’t unplayable I’m mostly fine in that department.

I had thought SMT V on the switch ran just fine. I only bought Vengeance on Steam because I imagine they’ll eventually have mods I may want to play with. Also there are people like me who still play games on PS2, N64, DOS etc. Those look so bad in comparison with everything we have today that we just don't care as much.
Switch owners have nothing to feel insecure about, it's a great game and was designed specifically for the switch, delivering an awesome experience. For people who have both a switch and a PC/Xbox/PS, it will overall play significantly better on the latter systems, so it's a no brainer. Not much else to it.

the effect lessens the higher the res, im at 1080p and theres still some but at a lower intensity. I assume by 4k that shimmering is gone
