André Le Nôtre was Louis XIV's first gardener at the Palace of Versailles. Gardener, but not only: fountains in the middle of groves, majestic paths, large bodies of water... its incredible gardens are renowned throughout the world. Everything seems straight, rectangular, and yet without really being so.

Documentaire intéressant mais assez gênant dans certains plans (un camion passe en bout de perspective à Chantilly), la narration sur les bosquets (celui des 4 fontaines à Versailles, sans eau), les commentaires vulgarisateurs et peu propices à l'éveil (le "devoir conjugal" du Roy à retrouver sa maîtresse au château du Val de St Germain), enfin le chois des musiques avec une suite pour orchestre de Bah pour finir... franchement!
