Watch some of their first vids, it's clear they made a lot of money while still on land before starting to sail. Some wise investments then with whatever was leftover after buying the boat could pay for their lifestyle. When they started RUclips didn't bring in much for them.
Having said that, obv they get a decent cash from RUclips ads/sponsorships now which I'm sure helps. @@williambeyer5095
@@williambeyer5095 All of it now, however he had to buy the first boat out of pocket. Which was money he made from when he was working and he even went back to work. Although they paid him really well. I'm sure they needed the money or else he wouldn't have done it.

Merry Christmas to your family. I always love listening to Keith on his thoughts and opinions. I’m 60, retired 4 years now, we have a 40 acre pleasure horse farm with zero debt. My wife and I worked hard and saved heavy for retirement, raised 2 children. I’m pretty sure Keith and I would get on well. Do your own thing, know how to manage your finances, live within your budget, take responsibility for your own situation. If you don’t like your situation … take responsibility and do something about it.

You all are lucky you made it into the Med when you did. Crazy how quickly the world changes and not for the better. Sad that your experience will be hard to replicate anytime soon. Even sadder for the people impacted by the current situation.

The great thing is, you are a business. Probably registered as an LLC, or S Corp, which allows you to write off many of those expenses. Anyone that is considering this type of lifestyle needs a really good accountant. Happy Holidays

You can tell what they make on RUclips at least in viewer add revenue via socialblade…it’s public info as all channels on RUclips are
It’s more than that though. They have at least one business Blue Water Cruising which adds value for services not to mention a vehicle for business expenses and tax deductions.

Great to see another video in the life of the Whitakers! It was interesting to see what the actual costs are to travel the way you do. Kudos to you both for having a plan and working it so that you could have these adventures and also to give your kids the thrill of a lifetime in being able to see those far away place that many of us only dream about. You've managed to keep your kids grounded and very well educated while being able to see the world first hand. You have an amazing family! I'm going to be in S.
