Fred Rogers was an ordained minister of the Lord Jesus Christ . It’s good to recognize that the reason why everyone loved Fred was because Fred loved the Lord Jesus and he was an ambassador of Jesus. without even actually preaching Jesus by name people recognized the love of God through Fred
The last line of this song teaches children a wonderful lesson. "Goodnight God, and thank you, God, for letting us love you," teaches them that they are not only loved, but capable of loving. And Fred often said the best thing you can do for someone is to help them to know that they are loved and capable of loving.
I'm just mesmerized by his presence. I would go as far to say that we're very lucky to share this place we called earth with Fred Rogers. He is such an amazing human being.
Every day, after school, this man was there where my father was not...and he comforted me and entertained me and told me I was special. I felt more love come from that man in the box than I ever felt from my real father. Mr. Rogers was my stand in Dad. I miss him.
Good night God and thank you for this very lovely day Thank you too for helping us at work and at our play Thank you for our families For each and every friend Forgive us please for anything we’ve done that might offend Keep us safe and faithful God Tell us what to do Good night God And thank you God For letting us Love you Good night God And thank you God for For letting us Love you I’m grateful to be able to love you 🫶🏽
One day I would like to have a show just like his. I'm a couseling therapist and I work with families and children promoting God' ans family values much as he did on his show. There would be modern twists of course, but simple and wholesome. God help me realize this dream. God bless us all !
I have always had that dream, too, of having a show like his. We NEED shows like this in today's time and I think it would be so refreshing for so many people. Of course, I am a woman and so it wouldn't be the same as having a man doing it. I think it's more suited for a man with a soft, comforting voice like Mr. Rogers. I pray that God will open the door for you if this is His plan for you! Maybe you could start with a RUclips channel. I would love to watch if you do. :)
Ever wonder how God could love someone as imperfect as ourselves? Yet he still puts up with us when he could simply make creatures that worship him all day and night and none of this disobedience us humans seem to have programmed in us. G'night God. May the world taste their regrets in not knowing you very soon.
If they brought the old TV shows back or at least introduced new TV shows with old time values our kids would not be so lost maybe teens wouldn't be so messed up -. Questioning their identity their gender even etc so sad it really is.
@@WeepingWidowSueAna He wrote this around 1955 when he was working on a TV show on WQED called "The Children's Corner" with Josie Carey. They made a record with this on it, and got caught up in a copyright tangle with some third party. Not sure of the details, but Fred was a big part of my life growing up in Pittsburgh long before Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. I loved this song, and sang it every night as my bedtime prayer.
This is literally the only time he mentioned God in any of his episodes and I am thankful for that. God is not a part of all of our lives and Mr Rogers is an inspiration for knowing that and not further indoctrinating children. Thank you!
@@dizzydisciple it would, yes. Mister Rogers is special because he constantly spoke what he knew to be true. If you started talking about religion, he would be broaching a topic of which he could not know for certain was true. This would discredit him.

I always loved and adored Mr Rogers as a child. Now as an adult I understand why. He was an advocate for children, for making God’s love known.
I grew up watching Mr. Rogers. What a wonderful, kind man he was.

Anyone that couldn't understand how wonderful this man is would have to be a fool Fred Rogers was a gift from God to the world he took him back
This absolutely touches my heart! That's what I've always loved about him was his ability to touch peoples lives in his own way. God bless Mr Rogers.
"I'm grateful to be able to love you"
Wow if only there were TV presenters with Mr Roger’s heart, humbleness and fear of God now!
I’m glad I saw this on Christmas 🎄 day
Awwww, I always loved Mr. Rogers. The world needs more men like this.
Amen. He's always been one of my favorite people.

I've often been told that I'm good with kids. I'd like to think that I got a lot of that from Fred. Such a kind and gentle soul.

Just wow! Why didn't he sing this song more often?
Sadly, the TV network wouldn't allow him to continue singing it because they didn't want to speak about God. :( Truly sad ... :(

Gotta love the disclaimer "I do not own this song or the rights" that everyone uses, as if that absolves you of copyright infringement. lol.
