      @@0rhythm_divine0 I agree it can be confusing. I have a blog post about online English teaching jobs that will introduce other online language schools and online teacher marketplaces. Here's the link: www.gratefulgnomads.com/best-online-english-teaching-jobs/

    I've been hearing a lot about Twenix recently. Seems like a very thorough onboarding process , and I like how flexible it sounds. Seems like they take a very thorough approach. I like the note feedback system. Sounds great. I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Rachel. Do you know if I can use a Chrome book laptop for this job ❓❓. Thank you

    • @gratefulgnomads
      @gratefulgnomads  Месяц назад

      Hi! Unfortunately I don't actually know the answer to this. Sasha used to do VIPKid on a Chromebook and they had strict system requirement so I would think yes but I can't definitely say so. Sorry about that!

    Hey Rachel! Quick Question - do you have to let Twenix know when you've changed locations? Then does your pay rate change? Thx

    • @gratefulgnomads
      @gratefulgnomads  Месяц назад

      Hi! This is an interesting question - I actually don't know the answer. I think it depends on the situation. If it's a permanent move, maybe? But I'm a digital nomad, for example, and change locations often. It would be way too much effort to let Twenix know every time. If it's in the interest of earning more, I think a better solution would be to teach more classes because that's another way to increase your earnings. I hope this helps! Sorry I don't know the exact answer.

    Hi! How did they decide on your hourly rate if you were traveling? If it's based on location? I'm from the UK and traveling in Asia, but of course I'd rather get closer to UK hourly rate. Thanks for the helpful video!

    • @gratefulgnomads
      @gratefulgnomads  3 месяца назад +1

      @@stevienovak8434 this is a great question! It’s based on your mailing address, not your IP address. So as long as you use your UK address when applying you should be fine. Thanks for watching! I’m glad you found it helpful 🙂

    Thanks for the video. I submitted my demo videos, and got a confirmation that they recieved it 8 days ago, but I have not been given a result yet. Is this normal? How long do you think I should wait before I follow up with an email?

    Would you be kind enough to give me some tips about recording videos please. What i need to do to achieve success in the whole process and specially on video recording please give me advice.

    • @gratefulgnomads
      @gratefulgnomads  11 месяцев назад +2

      Have you filled out the application yet? If your initial application is accepted, Twenix will send you a video with instructions for recording a video. But here are some general tips for recording videos: make sure you're in a quiet place so there's no background noise, use a microphone so we can hear you clearly (it doesn't need to be a fancy microphone. The headset you use to teach will be enough), and record the video in a well-lit room (ideally in front of a window). I hope this helps! Thanks for the question :)

  • @gabriellefernandez24

    Hi, do we need to have a headset with a microphone or can we use our airpods/earphones for the video we're meant to upload? Thank you!

    • @gratefulgnomads
      @gratefulgnomads  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hey! Thanks for watching :) I think it's best if you have a headset with a microphone because it provides better sound quality than AirPods. Having better sound quality will increase the chances of your videos being accepted. Hope this helps!

    How long does it take for Twenix to start the onboarding process or let you know if they’re moving forward with you after you submit the videos?

    • @gratefulgnomads
      @gratefulgnomads  8 месяцев назад +1

      It can take a couple of weeks. Please keep in mind that they don’t hire year round so it could be that they’re just not hiring right now. When did you submit your videos?

    They only offer $6 per hour

    • @gratefulgnomads
      @gratefulgnomads  2 месяца назад

      Hey there! The pay is per class and based on your country of residency. So if you were offered $6 it was more likely $6 per class, and each class is $26 minutes so that's actually $12 per hour if you have back-to-back classes.

    • @KARWUAY
      @KARWUAY 2 месяца назад

      @@gratefulgnomads hi, thanks for your response but they're offering 3 for 26 minutos of classes 🫠

    • @brettH7716
      @brettH7716 2 месяца назад

      @@gratefulgnomads $12 per hour is slave wages if you live in a Western country. That's only AUD$17.99. Teenagers working in McDonald's get paid more than that per hour here in Australia. The minimum wage here is AUD$24.10 per hour, and that's for no experience. Personally, I think these online ESL companies are rorting gullible 'teachers', undermining the entire industry. Unfortunately too many folk flock to these rorters, thinking it's easy money. It's a race to the bottom!

    I saw in another video that a teacher was complaining that teachers in Twenix have to maintain a rating that is almost impossible. Is that true in your opinion?

    • @gratefulgnomads
      @gratefulgnomads  7 месяцев назад

      Hi! Thanks for the comment! No, I don't think it's impossible to maintain a 4.7 out of 5 rating. I think Twenix does a good job explaining what is expected of you as a Tweacher. As long as you follow the curriculum and do what is expected of you, I don't think it's hard to maintain a good rating at all.
