How do when know that these choreography is accurate? Honest question. The Spanish/catholic residential schools destroyed all traditions for generations. How do we know this is accurate?
They did not. Mexico still has a rich native tradition unlike the US and Canada where natives were pretty much exterminated, the Spaniards intermarry with the indigenous producing a new culture and people.
Mexico has more native Americans than the USA but nowadays if you COUNT the Hispanics that are native Americans here in the USA, the numbers would be higher

Cool vid but no one knows exactly how the aztecs danced. Many of they’re traditions died in the 1500s. And barely any of modern day Mexicans are of pure aztec lineage
Maybe because we aren’t just Aztec. And Aztec isn’t even the right word. Many of our ancestors went into hiding. A bunch of them still speak their native languages. Native dances survived through modern Mexican dances, which put emphasis on footwork much like the native dances. Our ancestors wrote in Nahuatl in Spanish books to keep traditions and history alive, this is where we get a lot of our information from in regards to the mexica customs, religion, and day to day life.
There's lots of indigenous villages in Mexico that haven't been touched by the Spaniards and dances evolve thru time in each culture, when I was little in USA our dances have evolved a little bit to be a bit more fancy.
What does being of "pure aztec lineage" have to do with culture? Just because many people are mestizo doesn't mean they can't enjoy their culture. Do you think people who are half Irish can't enjoy Irish culture? I don't get your comment, as many have said many indigenous cultures are still around.
