    I've watched hundreds, if not thousands, of musical performances on RUclips and elsewhere over the decades, but this miraculous performance is my favorite hands down. I get goosebumps every time I watch it. Thank you for reacting to it and sharing the genius that is Hiromi Uehara.

    This trio is the strongest and best of Hiromi's projects.
    In fact, it is the longest running project.
    It is unfortunate that it has ended due to Anthony Jackson's health problems.
    If my wish comes true, I hope Anthony Jackson gets well and plays with this trio again.

      All these billionaires are so uninspiring with their piles of hoarded wealth. My first plan of action would be to hire a band consisting of:
      Hiromi Uehara - keys and guttural mouth sounds
      Johnny Greenwood - guitar and auxiliary instrumentals
      Thundercat - Bass and backing vocals
      Gavin Harrison - drums

      I like Hiromi's Sonic Bloom best.

    FYI - time signatures - multiple - 4/4, 6/8, 7/8, 9/8 - or whatever overarching division that covers them all... It's more that there a sections and each section emphasises different time signatures with the bridges between each section being in yet a different time signature. Hiromi does that quite a lot in her earlier works (like Move) but less so in the most recent album.

      I had that middle part in five, but could also be alternating between 3 and 2. Either way, when people talk about the best musicians they need to listen to this trio first!

    Went and saw Hiromi and her current trio in Osaka last December... which was fairly awesome.... They did the new album but this particular piece has echoes of Kieth Emerson (well Emerson Lake and Palmer) from the Tarkus album.

    Developing rather than aping Jarrett, Tippett and the less commercial stuff from Corea. The music develops, whether you brand it nu-Jazz or post-fusion

    Here's my top favorite bands / musicians out of about 20 I've been listening to for nearly a decade:
    Band-Maid (Prog Hard Rock);
    The Warning (Rock);
    Jinjer (Prog Groove Metal) & Lovebites (Rock Metal);
    Hiromi Uehara (Jazz Fusion Pianist);
    Yuja Wang (Concert Pianist); and
    Senri Kawaguchi (Drums)
    All considered among the best in the world. And 17 of 20 musicians are women!
    Thx, Wave!
