It was always gonna be really hard to do justice for the mother due to the hype throughout the seasons. But they pulled it off. Then they threw everything into the trash and completely wrecked it.
the idea of the ending was good for me, but the way they made it was just horrible, an entire season of a wedding from couple that was obviously not gonna last and the poor time they gave to Tracy didn't seem right, but the idea of him getting back with robin after he got over her and fell in love with Tracy was a good ending imo
I feel like the last few seasons were pretty mixed overall. Jason Segel was practically mailing it in and Barney's transformation was nice but never made sense, nor did he and Robin together. The ending was dope and it reflected that real life is messy and death is coming for us all 🤟
Okaaay soooo extremely unpopular opinion. But was I the only one who found Tracy's character very annoying?? More like, she felt _very_ manufactured. The perfect Mary Sue ... actually too perfect. She always said the right thing to the right person at the right time. She was so talented in the best possible ways and all the guys apparently fell for her so much so that her roommate (who was very pretty too btw) got jealous and felt so small compared to her. She was there for everyone all the time at the right time yada yada yada ....it was so bland. One argument I've heard is that it's because Ted is an unreliable narrator because he's a guy thinking of his dead wife so...yeah...no flaws .... But I mean that aside...her character's perfection felt forced
Well as you mentioned, it's Ted telling his kids about their mother and the woman he loved so... Yeah, he was not gonna do her nasty or bad mouth her. He only thought and told the best of her

@@JK-jb1oc I don’t watch the show but I’ve seen plenty of clips. I’ve only just learned this is “the mother” and I fully agree with your thoughts….. She’s incredibly contrived, in the right place at the right time always, seemingly connects with others in ways that profoundly resonate… It’s all too too much… I actually thought they all had a collective stalker for a moment, it wasn’t til I read this thread that i noticed she’s the mother
That was the point of her character. She was hyped up for 8 seasosn. She had to be perfect. The whole premise was about her. She had to be the perfect woman that Ted fell for. Now yes, they could have shown more of her flaws. More personality etc. But that could have only worked if the show made her a main character too. If the show actually properly focused on her after she met Ted. Which is something a lot of people complained about. But as the show existed. Mother was the mythic figure that the story built towards. She had to be perfect.
