Hi team! 💜 Hope the video helped to show you how I'm keeping track of my life admin gamification 😄 Obviously when filming this, I haven't quite started with using the system just yet, so it might get some more tweaks, but I'm super excited to try it out and track my points 🥳 If you wanted to grab yourself the spreadsheet to help you keep track of your game, jump over to jashii.com/products/life-admin-gamification-tracker 😊 Hope you find it helpful!
It makes me laugh that you gave yourself extra work setting up the spreads and overall gaming system in order to incentivize yourself to... not overwork 😂 I totally relate. I hope it really helps with the balance. You've motivated me to start my very first bujo in 2025. I'm psyched.
I’ve tried bullet journalling in the past and couldn’t stick to it due to monthly spread setups. Like literally that was the only thing holding me back - finding time at the start of each month to set up new pages. I think this system will work for me because I can set up everything at the start of the year (tomorrow!) and then just USE it.
@@leighamontgomery981Tbh the monthly spreads didn’t do it for me either. Doesn’t mean bujo’ing won’t work all together! I have a bullet journaling inspired (printable) setup now with weekly spreads, a brain dump/master to-do and daily sheets. That scratches planning my itch completely.
Thank you so much for updating this! This series is my most anticipated type of video! I added different guilds, such as “cooking guild” and “artisan guild” to encourage me to work on techniques and crafts I haven’t before. For example, this part is just +1 colored in box every time I complete a knife skill. I just used the entire page of an A5-size dedicated to filling it in. The other page is filled up with knife skills, culinary skills, and technical foods. I’m starting with the basics, like dicing and julienne (did not know there were so many types of knife skill chops) in one day for +1. At the end, when the knife skills are completed, I’m rewarding myself with a new knife set to show I’m worthy of the set. Thank you so much for your discord channel too! So many ideas from this section that I love reading.
I love to watch those videos because your "fun work" to gamify your life is my day job as a game designer 😅I love to see people designing gamified systems!
I am planning to gamify my life as well! I'm basing it off the old games I played in the 80s and 90s, like Bard's Tale, Wizardry, Might & Magic, and the early Forgotten Realms games, with some Elder Scrolls thrown in for good measure!
This seems like such a fun idea; however, I do not think I could keep up with all the parts. Like I am finding habit trackers are not really working for me. Kate Cavanagh has some videos with the titles writing semester which she creates courses and syllabus for herself. I think adapting part of your method with the college course idea could work better for me, for example, a self-care course, gardening course, life admin course, workout course, and a hobby course.
Thank you SO much for the spreadsheet! There is no way I would be able to even THINK of trying this adorable, fun system if I had to figure out the points and track/calculate everything myself. I’m so excited!
Last year I had this idea to have a monthly theme of basically this sort of thing (kind of like the hero’s journal style where you have side quests and all that jazz)… but I never actually did it cause it would have been a drawing heavy theme and I couldn’t have been bothered at the time… long story short, love that you’re doing this sort of thing for the entire year! Now that is dedication! I’m excited to see how you pull it off and slay it next year! I know it’s going to be awesome!
I really wanted to try gamification this coming year but I just didn’t have the bandwidth for it at this time. However, some of the things I did in attempt to prep for it are going to still be helpful for me next year.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how you gamified life spread are progessing throughout the year. I love the idea, I just wanna know if it will work too.
As a gamer - I have thought how to gamify my life as well, this gamify sort of “series” you made has definitely helped with layout ideas and just overall getting it set up. Thank you so much!!
I just bought a beautiful leather journal just to do this with you! I’m hoping this works to motivate me, and the journal makes me feel like an actual game character hahaaa
The ligatures on that font that you used for your daily journal is so gorgeous. I downloaded it and will have to practice using the special characters so I get the ligatures to show up. I don't usually bother. :D
I was really excited about this project! I'll follow you to see the progress of your character. 😍 But I have a question: will all the tasks be posted in the "Task Log" tab? I imagine that by the end of the year, the expectation is that it will be huge!
I was hoping for another video about this subject from you, like more details about how you’re going to be doing the gamification (I figure you’d update on it, though). I’m working on my own gamification system for myself. :)
I had to watch it twice, I think I need a full rewatch of all the gamification videos, because I keep getting lost in the process of setting up my 2025 bujo 😅
For my tracking, I'll be doing a mix of bujo and notion. I have a dutch door spread that starts with a level tracker, then a rewards tipin (I forgot to make space for them 😅) followed by lists of the different tasks that earn points in each category and the points they're worth. I'll track my overall levels in the bujo, but the daily recording and math will happen in notion. I still have to decide how to set that one up though 😆
Why aren't the amount of days for reaching a level conditioned on the "Perfect Cycle" along with a buffer to down (if wanting to give yourself some breathing space) or upscale (depending on non cycle depended tasks) however you'd like. Seems more logical to me? Right now you'd be able to set the days on an unreachable number without knowing.
I don’t think I’m at the point of having the time/energy to do a full gamification, BUT I like the idea of tasks getting points. I think for me points might be tired to dollars earned towards my reward items. I’m after a bit of extra $$ to make a tea voucher qualify for free shipping and a new tube of watercolour paint…..hmmmm….have I just basically ‘reinvented’ pocket money from childhood….
Idk how to implement this but I think if you have like a high level in a category you minus a point from the activity. Like in games it takes more exp to get the next level
That make sense 🤔 I just made it so that the points I have to get between each subsequent value goes up each time. E.g. Level 1 - 40 points Level 2 - 80 points Level 3 - 120 points Level 4 - 200 points Level 5 - 320 poitns etc.
Just a sincere question. I see that you added up the last two values to get to the new value in the "levels" page. It stood out to me that that results in a giant gap from lvl 8 to 9 (august 24th to Jan 18th). Is that going to be a good enough pace still? To me personally that would be demotivating. Anyhow, thanks for sharing the system! My system is D&D stat based with a few minor edits, and with self-made spreadsheets. Past week I have been playtesting to balance out levels and XP requirements. Holy Guacamole, this system works WELL! I built two pivot tables recording character level and skill levels, and then made a progress bar using graphs and even more calculations. The progress bars have been keeping me very busy past week. For people who, like me, found this video without bujo'ing that much: It can be used with several other planning systems too. I combine it with printables and regular lined paper, and it worked very well with my playtest.
Very fair question! I was thinking that myself and might have to revisit whether I have a time gap that long for levelling up between those two levels 🤔
@@JashiiCorrin if I may suggest the formula I used? I opted for an exponential(?) formula to calculate XP requirements. Now I do use 20 lvls (due to D&D being based on that) and the 20th level would take 534 days. I think a different flow could be reached easily though. The formula is something like this: a*b*c^d, rounded up to every second full number. In Excel that would be something like CEILING(a*b*c^d;(e)) Where a = difficulty modifier, similar to the skill modifiers in the "skill area" tab. I set mine to 0,85, allowing 15% of "failure" due to unforeseen circumstances. b = days of the week, or any other way of preferred measuring. I set it to 7 either way. c = level number, so for me that is linked to cell A5 to A14 d = another difficulty modifier. I set it between 1 and 2 (1,5). With 2, and other numbers in my formulas unchanged, lvl 10 would be reached at approx. 596 days from now (Sept 2026) e = optional, its the rounding up value. I set it to 2. Don't really know why, as the XP points also get rounded up. But it does give a nice flow. You made me dust off old math knowledge 🤣Thank you for the hyperfocus 😂

At least if I’m too busy setting up spreads, then in theory I’m too busy to do my regular work tasks 😂 haha

Incentivising to do things outside of work, which for me means taking back the hobby (journaling) that got the youtube channel big
I actually only did yearly type spreads to start as well. Mostly trackers, a daily gratitude, meal log, etc
I'm a lifelong gamer and games make more sense to me than real life sometimes, so I have been _so_ excited for this video!

Hey Jess! Could you do a video about the different stationary and markers you own, which are your favourites and which ones you recommend?
Totally just spotted Sara Cannon in that clip. My universes are merging.
Haha yeah 💜 got to meet her in person at GO Wild 😄
I love the stickers you used, where did you purchase them? Do you have a referral link?

I’m spending tomorrow setting this up in my journal and you better believe I’m going to watch it ALL again (third and fourth time for some of them).

Sounds like a good system 💪 I’m all for getting an automated system to do the math 😂
I've been trying to figure out how to gameify my planning too but with d20's and other dice

Going to do a simplified gamification system but with The Nine Delights. 😈
