I’m the truck driver that passed you with a sign that said “Hi, Mark”! I was coming up that hill before you get to Albuquerque and was behind several REALLY slow vehicles. My first thought was it must be another semi that is really heavy. Nope. It was you guys slowing us all down.😂 Seeing you guys on the road was one of my best days ever!!
Lol. I thought I saw your green truck on that hill too when editing. Thanks for the sign. I'm sorry it takes the Canon so long to turn-on because that would have been fun to see. See you down the road. I might be passing you now ;)
I was heading west and the bird was heading south on I40 March 02 around Holbrook...I was super excited to spot you guys on the road but I sure didn't have time to write a sign!! 🤣🤣🤣
Took me 2 weeks of ignoring my family and multi tasking at work lol but I have watched all 6 years worth of episodes, phew. My family will be glad to get me back, but watching your family has inspired me to bank some vacation and take a long RV trip and see some NP’s. Now I join the group that has to wait till Sunday nights to see what’s new, glad I won’t miss a KYD Swag announcement anymore - Liz 🙂
Thanks Marc, Trish and your family for providing us with such great travel videos of your adventures. You've been such an inspiration for my wife and I. We ran out and bought a truck and a camper. We go camping every 4 to 6 weeks and plan on traveling the country when we retire next year. So, this is what we've been watching on Sunday evenings since the 60's. 60's - The Ed Sullivan Show. 70's - The Six Million Man 80's - MacGyver 90's - Sea Quest 2000's - Nothing/Garbage 2010's - Nothing/Garbage 2020's - KYD - You saved the day!!!!
He will LOVE Embry Riddle! I graduated in 1976 and retired 2 years ago after 40 year career flying Lears, Falcons and Gulfstreams! But Riddle was the best 4 years of my life!
The Big Texan Steakhouse shirt goes in a frame on the wall of the cabin! It’s time for some memorabilia from your travels to start decorating the cabin.
Carson!!! Congratulations! You get the best of both worlds going to college at ER, and becoming an officer through ROTC. My twin brother went to University of Colorado, did ROTC, went to Lubbock Pilot Training after college, became a pilot for C-5’s, flew Près Clinton’s banner flights, became an Instructor Pilot at THE Air Force Academy, flew Bush during his presidency, flew Special Forces (aka Sam Fox) and retired after 25 years as a Lieutenant Colonel. Now he is Jamie Dimons (President of JP Morgan) senior pilot. Sooooo, don’t think going to the Air Force Academy is the only path Lt. Colonel David Holmén had an incredible career and traveled all over the world. I also love that he got to “go” to the USAF Academy as an IP. Hugs Leech family! Many blessings! Rich and Deb @mywindsweptrvlife
The grand kids love to watch your channel with me. They talk about Gary all the time. They will miss the Bird but we look forward to seeing the next chapter.
My son used to work at the RV museum in Elkhart, it will be a great place to leave it for everybody to enjoy! Congrats Carson! Looking forward to the next adventure!
Congratulations Carson!!! I graduated from Riddle in 1982 spent 40 years flying and recently retired. Great school. My wife and daughter also are riddle graduates.
2002 Alum of ERAU in Daytona, DET 157, USAF ROTC here! Carson will love it there and let him know that DET 157 gives out the most pilot slots in the AF, after the AF Academy, so he has a great chance there, especially since he flies now. Best of luck to him! It’s the Harvard of aviation! My father and I both graduated ERAU. He flew Hueys and Blackhawks in the Army and I did nuclear security and anti-terrorism in the Air Force. Plus you can’t go wrong with Daytona!
Honestly, for my part I fell in love with the Bird. I wish I owned it. You could have a Diesel heater installed in it and of corse more HP from the engine. But I find his look so cool. Thank you for being so real and honest in showing the way you guys live. You really make a great family.
I enjoyed seeing the bird too. At first I thought there was no way Marc would make it 2 weeks because an old RV is…old. And stuff breaks. But the style is so cool. More so than the high dollar Newells. IMHO. Too bad they can’t get Cummins to transplant the X15 in that bird. It would seriously fly then!
I love the Bird! The Bird has character! Ultimately You need to do what makes YOU happy, whatever that is, it’s not up to any of us to judge. I truly enjoy all of your videos, no matter the subject, they are all so great! Thank you for helping us with all of your helpful travel information. ❤❤🥰
So glad you all made it safely to your destinations. Looking forward to traveling along with you on your next adventure. Keep up the great work! Love this channel!
Glad you’re back to normal content. Last two episodes were like watching the neighbors vacation slide show. Funny to only you and co-dependents. (Said with a smile)
We're going to miss seeing the bird on your videos. We love the old ones. We ourselves have a 1978 Empress C-class and we love it. Keep up the great videos.
Love it guys! Such a fun video, sorry you lost some much footage! It was great seeing you guys again and excited for the next time, cheers to the Adventure!
Hey Marc, They make memory foam mattresses for RV’s. We bought one some years ago and it’s on its great! Just like sleeping at home. No more crappy RV spring mattress. We bought ours from Camping world. Good travels!
Loved the Bird, but am looking forward to seeing the truck and airstream again. But the Bird was so cool and I'm definitely glad you guys did Rt. 66 with it! Sorry your leg across the country was a cold one though Marc. Can't wait to hear for on Carson and seeing what's going on in FL! Hugs, Brenda
Woohoo, ERAU! We live in a fly-in community near DAB/Riddle. My husband is a ERAU alumni. We are future campers, as we are planning to buy a fifth wheel soon (and a new Ford truck).
OK, the Bird is in storage! I’m a Wanderlodge fan and I really enjoyed the Bird episodes! I understand the problems with Bird, but I got to sit on my couch and watch you deal with them! Bummer! It reminds me of Paul Newman’s comment when he played Butch Cassidy! He sees the brand new bank with all its fortifications and asks what happened to the old bank “it was beautiful”! The guard responds “it kept getting robbed”! Butch then says “small price for beauty”! That’s how I feel about the Bird, “no heat, no water, 17mph up hill, sure is a small price to pay for beauty” especially from my couch! Thanks for the fun & beauty of the Bird!
It was fun. We really enjoyed the Bird this season and esp on RT66, but it's fun to share her with everyone now. Go see her the next time you're in Indiana.
So good to see Carson. Very happy for him. Trish your hair looked really nice. Caleb, I missed you & hope you can get coordinated with your plane. Great hobby. A man & his fob. Does life get any better? Looking forward to Florida. Have a good week.
I have really enjoyed traveling with you in the Bird! I will miss it! Love the way you keep it real and change things up from time to time. Can’t wait for the next adventures!
We always feel so good after watching your weekly videos!!! We Love that you ended the video after asking Carson if his friends, at the gym, thought you were his brother. I Love the puzzled look on his face and him answering Brother???? Hahahahaha
Love the Bird. A true classic which shows how great rv's were made back in the day. We are actually getting ready to put our motor coach up for sale and give the 5th wheel life a try. Also, our new 10 acre Tiny home / RV plots will be ready for guests in the early summer months, and if you guys are in Texas, we would love to have your family come join us for a stay. Thanks for sharing all your adventures. You Guys Are Awesome. Peace
@@danjohnson7767 Hi Dan, we appreciate the heads up. We are looking for a 40+ ft Toy Hauler for the extra space with all the extras. We love our Monaco, but it is too nice to live in full time and wear it out. :)
Mark, Trish.... I've spent many a night and day sitting out on the wind farms in the wind areas of our country from South Texas up to the Canadian border..... That spot on the rim of the Canyon was so cool.... Can you tell the folks just how special these places are at night in the dark dark no outside light interference looking up at those bright stars!! Hope to see you out there this year. Truck safely
Foxy's on Jost! I started visiting there in the early 90's when I was doing regattas in the BVI. You brought back some memorable smiles. (I grew up in Flag-and have a home there as well as my residence in Fort Worth)
Congratulations to Carson going to ROTC. I thought Gary was going to be in the RC aircraft. Looks like another exciting season coming up. Thank you for sharing and have a great day.
Great to see the truck back...Awesome to see you stored the Airstream at DC Storage! Great place....going to miss the Bird! Cannot wait to meet you on the road.....
I'm finally catching up on episodes! And I totally just lost my mind and got so excited I called the hubby at work! THE BIRD IS COMING TO ELKHART INDIANA! the rv capital of the world! My home! I'm so beyond excited!!!!!!

So crazy watching this video, we began watching you guys years ago all while living and working right down from that DC storage! Now we live in Arizona.
One thing that may make the Bird more enjoyable and easier to drive if you decide to keep her - Propane Injection. That would improve the power and fuel economy immensely and wouldn't require any engine mods. You can get the entire system installed for you at Bullydog performance in Idaho. That would include the tank and the necessary computer and diffuser. Also a turbo wouldn't hurt for more power - the caterpillar motor can definitely take it.
Somebody is storing the bird in my backyard ;+) I might have to go sneak-a-peak. LOL. so fun to see Michigan content. Look forward to the next season with the airstream. Cant wait to pull my 84 Holiday rambler out of winter storage for the summer play season. All the best to you guys
I was in the same predicament one-time looking for a rental car one-way nobody would rent it to me and if they would it was really really expensive so I ended up going to a U-Haul rental center and just renting one of their pickup trucks, not one of their big moving trucks it was their pickup truck that I rented and was able to do it with U-Haul since most of the time people are renting it for a one-way trip to begin with
