    Question: How do you export from Blender into Substance Painter and have it to where you can paint on a bunch of different parts at once. In your TextureSetList you have "Backplates-material, barrel-material" how do you do that? Is it just by default when you export the whole model together as an .FBX file into Substance?

    • @SamWarren
      @SamWarren  7 лет назад +8

      iRageGGB you have to make each part have a separate material in blender itself; so go to the materials tab in blender, press the add material button and rename it to whatever you want. then when you export it as any format, it will carry the material information with it :)

    Is this for a video game or for rendering. If for video game, then you have a lot of polys and materials for one gun. But good none the less

    But what is with the export? You have multipe materials for the different parts,I get that, but usually you put everything on one map, right? If I have an asset with multiple meshes (for example a tank with crates, wheels and stuff) will I have many many exported textures? This seems messy...

    • @leandrofod

      Ctrl B to bevel. Another option is the surface subdivision modifier that you can find in the modifiers tab
