I have converted to almost everything EGO. I am old school gas guy but I am more than satisfied with the technology of electric equipment. I will purchase this as soon as I can get my hands on it since I am in the market for a new mower. I held off from the Ryobi ZT because of the battery issues, and there are many. Maybe there will be a a sale on these in the neighborhood of $4,500 or less. They will sell pretty quick. Cant wait! Thanks for the review.
At some point they might run a promotion on them, but I would expect that won't be until at least year 2. They made a limited number of these Z6 zero turns for 2021 and they sold out to dealers and retailers FAST!!!
I'm seeing complaints for battery issues with this brand as well, some only lasting a year before failing. Listening to this guy brag about 2hr quick charger on this makes me laugh. Quick charging a lipo battery pack is one of the worst things you can do for longevity. Another thing that reduces battery capacity over time is charging to full capacity. A charging system worth bragging about would be a slow charger with variable cutoff features, allowing for 60-80% charging capacity. A homeowner only mowes once a week and many can do so with the battery topped off at 70% and still have 30% capacity left when their done. Then they have a full week to charge it back to 70% capacity for the next weekend's mowing. We don't need a fast charger, we need battery longevity, especially when they cost several hundreds of dollars each. And seeing the whole reason we're wanting to go electric is because it's green, why not give us a solar charging option as well?
You mentioned that spindles have to be replaced on a gas mower. You state that the motor shouldn't fail, but if it does what will the cost be? Also will Lowes or Ace have personnel on hand to work on this mower if there is a problem?
I can't wait! I was nervous that my gate would be too small to get it, but just measured and it's 45 inches :) The only two things I dislike about the mower so far is 1) The price at 5k.. I was hoping 4k and 2) the back end being pretty long which has most people complaining about
With that $5K you're getting a 5 year warranty and 4 of the 10. Ah batteries that can be used in other stuff like a power station or with the backpack link to get longer run times from handheld equipment. That's 2 big benefits that you don't get from other brands. As far as the back end being long, I drove one around and it wasn't that much different than a gas powered zero turn when you're sitting on the seat.
The price of US $5k is reasonable in my opinion. How much would an equivalent petrol powered mower be? Four 10 ah batteries are worth something in itself.
Yep! That is something new that they announced and is a HUGE benefit for someone who purchases one of these mowers. A 5 year warranty on a 42 inch zero turn and it's power plant is something that will be tough for other OEM's to compete with.
Ego also wins with warranty and support. Ego dealers might not be as plentiful as brands like Cub Cadet, John Deere, etc but at least they do have dealers to handle warranty and service work. Ryobi does not have actual dealers. Just TTI authorized repair shops.
$5k...stamped deck...no thanks. My hustler SD was less than $4k and it has a heavy duty fabricated deck...bigger spindles and most likely thicker blades. I feel like adding 3 driving modes is unnecessary complexity. Want to go slow...don't push the sticks as far. I would like never having to replace belts or pulleys though. I do wonder how they calculated the 22hp. On a gas machine, the 22hp engine powers everything. This machine most likely uses different sized motors for the wheels than on the deck. Also, the brushless motors on this are far bigger than on any other equipment they sell and they will for sure set you back a few hundred per motor.

I get the USB charging port but what's with the bluetooth connection feature. Connect to what?
Ego has an app that you can connect certain equipment to.
any new info? Any experience with using it yet??

@@kdegraa Around half that price to a couple grand less for an equivalent gas ZT mower.
The 10amp batteries carry a 5 yr warranty. Its not a misprint

How hard is it to drop the deck to replace the blades?
In this video it shows you how to remove the deck and do a few other things with this zero turn. ruclips.net/video/HRzMD34yzKw/видео.html
Need to do a z6 vs the ryobi. Pure mow quality. Ego has the edge with the 56v line all staying the same battery.
Ego wins with the hot swop battery option and Ryobi wins on price

I would like to know how much one of those motors cost. I can see from what I looked at so far a 10 bat cost 650. Kinda high
MSRP for the 10 Ah battery is $450
Will u be able to put a blade on it like ryobi?
No, it's a zero turn mower. Bagger and mulch kit are the only accessories available for it.
Ryobi doesn't make that bucket/blade you've seen...an afternoon add-on.
Considering the price of Greenworks and Meangreen, I would've tried Ego if it wasn't for the disappointment of the recent full package purchase.
Where can I pre-order the Z6?
Check for an EGO dealer near you using the dealer locator on Ego's website.
I like to know the difference in wait
It will be around 350 lbs much lighter.
Can’t wait for ego to come to United Kingdom
Robert Warren the brand or this mower?
Ego is the brand.
and no loud notice to wake people early in the morning
It probably wait less so is easy on the grass
Cheap stamped deck
Garbage. Keeping the Scag.

And the batteries cost even more and only last a year or two, from what I'm seeing elsewhere on RUclips.
@@naamangeist7843 The batteries have a 5yr warranty so who cares if they go out after a year or two. You just get them replaced.
