    As a 58 year old black man I have to thank you for sharing so many of your experiences. I know the fact that I'm black and 58 is irrevelevant but I say that to inform you of the reach you have. I stumbled on your channel about a year ago and this is the first time I've commented. You have added so much to my life, because of your videos I still dream. Thanks man! Wishing you the best and please keep the videos coming!

      I'm in the same BOAT as you...PUN intended..I'm 58 can retire in 4yrs with SS and a pension...after taxes..I should have around $3500 /$3800 to work with...and if I do good on RUclips extra income....lol

    • @whatta7793
      @whatta7793 7 месяцев назад

      @@JimKirk1776 try to save every penny you can right now outside of your SS/Pension. Savings accounts paying 5% interest, pretty significant. Just saving a few bucks on the side over the next 4 years can add to that $3500-3800 number significantly! Look into some stocks like JEPI and ARCC for even more cashflow. I think JEPI pays around 8% annual dividend, but pays out monthly, and it's price remains pretty stable. $10,000 in that alone would be $67 a month and you'd still have your $10,000 if an emergency happened and you needed a "lump sum". Adds up!

My wife suffers from a similar (but less serious) situation, so I feel for you. Gus you’ve been making lemonade out of lemons your whole life. This health issue is another example. I love what you and Ethan are doing. Be more cautious about the various chemicals and fluids you work around. Be very conscientious about PPE and keeping that stuff out of your system. I have a 50’ in Seattle and have concluded it’s much easier and cheaper to cruise on a cruise ship to see the sights. lol. Thanks for inviting us along.

    I know this is an older video, but I just want to tell you that I am so happy for your full recovery. I am in the sunset of my life, and dealing with an illness that has no treatment, and so it emphasizes to me how fragile life is, and without your health, you have nothing. Again, congratulations on your recovery.

    Best channel on YT these days. I am a life time boater, just turned 60, avid aluminum cruiser faniatic but also have spent 10 years with a pair of 466 Bertrams with Detroits, Life time on the water. I am getting old now, not as flexible to work on boats as I used to be for sure. Gonna continue living the boat dream through you. I have down sized to a 24' SeaPro with a 250 Suzuki and a freshwater 19' bass boat for now. Be fun to visit some time. I lived it and done it so happy to be following you and see your path develop.

    I really enjoyed the part about the injector and generator work.
    My only experience with a marine diesel was a Perkins 4-1089 in a Swan 44 sailing yacht.
    The engine was under a cover below the companionway to the deck. To access the engine, i had to raise the companionway and secure it to the underside of the deck, and then open a huge, mahogany engine cover.
    If there was a fuel problem, I had to manually prime the engine by laying on the floor of the head and open a small access door.
    Your engine rooms look like a dream to me

    This was a very good one. Glad you are felling better, I went through abdominal surgery for an abscess last year. It was no joke as you know. Have a safe trip and I am looking forward to more videos this Summer.

    Love your adventures and if I wasn't 77 years old soon to be78 years old I would do more than just watch your videos. I will say that in my 30s I was an avid water skier. Be safe. 🚤

    I'm from a little island off the coast of Georgia, Tybee. Manatees were such a rare sighting, when I was little, they became my favorite animal, even over dolphins. Known as gentle giants. I'm bawling seeing this poor little one. There's not much more sad than that. I've moved away from there, but I've heard they are becoming more common up in the rivers and creeks now. Out at Sunbury Docks/ Marina, Ga., they have a Manatee watch sign to keep an eye out for them. It breaks my heart. Poor things. 😢 ❤
