Lake State Railway Saginaw to Highland April 6, 2024

In part 2 we chase the Wixom-bound 90 car grain train 60 miles across the Saginaw Subdivision. The pair of SD50-3 locomotives smoke it up along the route as they pull the long hopper train from town to town.

Thanks! South of Flint the, specifically Holly, the catches get much more difficult considering the web of roads, traffic, and speed of the train. Glad you enjoyed the GB shot. I wanted to launch the drone but didn’t have time because I got distracted by a dog that was in desperate need of pettins’. 😂

I record all of my current stuff in 5.1 Surround. It sounds really nice with headphones or a decent sound system.😊

Thanks Steven! I appreciate it. I’m not sure about the Holly time frame, but the recently removed trees implies sooner rather than later for the depot relocation. As for for the diamond and track work, that’s anyone’s guess considering the pace at which most railroads do things.

I hadn't heard about the Holly depot being movrd and the diamond being redone. I'm assuming it's the LSRC portion of the diamond that will redone as the CN is a straight shot through Holly. Any idea when this all is slated to begin?

Yes, the remainder of the Wixom trip will come eventually, but in multiple outtings. It’s difficult to get multiple shots down there given the speed of the train. Plus, I’d like a few more shots for the in-progress Saginaw Subdivision video. Thanks for taking the time!!

Difficult to answer without writing a novel. To put it shortly, they run Monday through Friday on the primary subs.
