I have one of these Fords, plugs never changed! No tips I could see on them but the car still ran until the coil packs failed due to bad plugs. Same yer with 200,000 miles on it. I changed spark plugs and replaced 2 misfiring coil packs, Replaced them all since I had to go to all that work. I replaced the coil packs with mid priced OEM repelacements from Rock auto. Within the first 6 months 2 of the 3 on the front side (easy to replace had failed again with better grade Bosch coil packs. Here a year late two more of the new ones on the engines back failed too! That is what I am doing today. Also have a valve cover leak so if your going to tear the top of the engine off replace the coil packs and gaskets too while you in there, otherwise Murphy's Law says you'll regret not doing so! Gasket sets are cheap, labor and time are not!!
No mention of the fact these spark plugs have a taper fitting which is a first for me. I had my mechanic change them because I also wanted the valve cover gaskets replaced along with the PCV valve and coils. The side of the engine next to the firewall was above my pay grade. I also had the torque checked on the cam cover bolts while the opportunity was there. All is well. Although this engine is from the Gen1 Escape and is non-VVT with less horsepower and torque, I prefer it over the Gen2 engine (2009-20012) which has a history of problems with the VVT (i-VTC).
The videos is ten minutes, I don’t think he meant a ten minute job. Regardless, everybody seems to exaggerate times. Its refreshing when I see someone post an honest time.

Very informative, but the camera guy is stumbling around like he's about to keel over. I'd fire him!
So would l.

Sigh... Poor instructions
A long ten minutes if you get a rubber boot not coming out. Even if you don’t ...ten minutes??
