Hey andy i recently got into table tennis and i play chinese penhold. Before i got in contact with my coach your videos really did help a lot please come back from the dead and make more videos
I like how you guys are playing very slow and the games are not too hectic, good to get the feel of the ball and have more accuracy on your strokes then just going crazy like some people do. Nice video!
Hi bro...i missed ur videos. Can u make tutorials on all strokes in PENHOLD.Pleaseee..... All videos on xu-xin 's forehand and backhand Loop,Chop,Push,Flip,Smash,Footwork,Defence,Attack,etc...
I think you can become a great player Andy -- maybe your skills have atrophied but it looks like you've got a better table tennis physique over these past years (not to sound weird). The number one thing you need to work on is perfecting (and I mean 'perfecting') that forehand loop. Work on brushing the ball to generate as much spin as possible and make sure you're finishing the stroke by your brow. The number two thing is probably your footwork. Just watch and analyze what Xu Xin does very closely and do what he does. I think his style would fit you very well. Happy cloudwalking!
Hey Andy, Thanks for the video and I found this is exact place I have been going for tt lately. And I was probably playing on the table next to you. Can you let me know if you plan to going to gym and we schedule a time to play?
Hi Jiehong, That's a wonderful coincidence! Unfortunately I don't attend the university currently, so it's not convenient for me to go there anymore. If I end up transferring in, I'll let you know.
Would you recommend using rpb on a jpen paddle? I'm trying to get the neottec AL-S Off+ Jp.Pen blade with nittaku fastarc g-1 2.0mm thickness rubbers on forehand and backhand side. Do you think this would be viable?
It's definitely possible, as pro player Qiu Dang was able to achieve a very high level playing with RPB J-pen before switching to C-pen. However, from the looks of it, there would have to be some major grip changes made so that comfortable RPB would be possible. It's harder to execute RPB on a J-pen racket than a C-pen racket because of how the handle is shaped. Personally, I would switch to C-pen or stick to traditional J-pen.
Before you start playing, it's a good idea to stretch your hands out and warm up properly. Most importantly, make sure your grip is relaxed so that there's less strain. You may have to adjust your grip so that your index finger doesn't have as much strain.
