I've been wanting to marry her for the past 58 years! After watching The Pink Panther (at the age of 10), I still remember telling my parents "I want to marry her" as we were leaving the Theater. My Dad just chuckled and said to my Mom "That's my boy"...... My Mom gave Dad the strangest look....... A Very Beautiful Talented Lady!
I was her musical director/arranger for two weeks at Palumbi's in Philadelphia. She was a great talented lady and I didn't even know she left us - Beautiful on the outside and Inside!! And i played with some great Philly musicians. Hope they ae all here and well!!

I was a big jazz fan back in the 60's - 70's and was in the Air Force stationed overseas a lot. The wonderful DJ's ("Hi, I'm Roger Carroll, and I play records") on AFRTS gave her a lot of airplay. I got to see her in person at a hotel in New Orleans in 1972. It was a treat I will never forget! She is an awesome singer.
I was just looking through the RUclips videos featuring Fran Jeffries, when I came upon this one with the letters R.I.P. next to the title. At first, I thought maybe it was a mistake, until I went on Google and clicked on to Wikipedia; it said she passed away on December 15, 2016, which was over a month ago! She had been dead over a month and I didn't even know it (I haven't seen a newspaper for several months because of money troubles, but surely they must have mentioned her death on the television news; perhaps, they only reported it briefly in passing, since she wasn't as big a star as, say, Elvis Presley or Frank Sinatra; plus, they were probably too busy talking about the aftermath of last November's election, especially since it was a presidential election; or maybe they did announce her death and I had fallen asleep and missed it or I probably wasn't paying attention, which has always been a habit of mine; my family used to complain about it all the time, especially my sister, who was always saying "You're in la la land again"). Now, I feel as sad as I did when I lost my sister to lung cancer over a year and a half ago. Anyway, Miss Jeffries was one of my favorite singers. She was a very sexy lady with a very sexy voice, especially when she sang "It Had Better Be Tonight" (in Italian, no less) in the original "Pink Panther" movie and when she sang the title song from "Sex And The Single Girl" (both from 1964). My family and I once saw her at a "Big Band" concert at Florida Atlantic University (in Boca Raton) back in 1991. I even used to have a few of her record albums, which have been out of print for years, but I managed to find them on eBay. Unfortunately, I lost them when our house was foreclosed on (they told us out of the blue that we were losing the house and that we had to clear out in 48 hours, so we didn't have time to pack much of what we had). In any case, I'll miss her like she was a member of my own family, and I'm sure her other fans (and of course, her friends and family) will miss her as well. The world has lost a wonderful singer. Rest in peace, Fran Jeffries, wherever you are now. I loved you!
What a great message you have written about the beautiful and truly talented Fran Jeffries ....for ALL THE WORLD....Thankyou Michael Palmieri...You Got SOUL..!
Lucy lohwinow Thank you, I really appreciate the compliments, particularly about how I "Got SOUL." That's the nicest thing anyone ever said about me. I felt my little tribute to Miss Jeffries was the least I could do for such a talented woman, especially since I didn't even know about her passing away until over a month after it happened. Again, thank you for your nice letter.
You may not believe this, but I was just looking over my little tribute to Fran Jeffries that I wrote ten months ago, and I happened to glance at the date of her death, December 15, 2016, and I realized that TODAY IS DECEMBER 15, the first anniversary of her passing! What a coincidence.
Blown away by this woman. No idea why she wasn’t even more famous.

Talent. Looks. My God....

What a voice and she had the moves too. Rest in peace, fine lady.
Stunningly beautiful!
So i was born in 1972 and didn't appreciate her till later in life but definitely would have been a major fan....so damn gorgeous too. RIP.
There's something of a quavering vulnerability in her voice which adds to the power of her expression.
A classic performer.
One of the great singers. RIP Fran.
