Dude, I LOVE the amount of work you put into this explanation. My deluxe edition arrived today, I'm gonna paint the figures and can't wait to play this at the next games night!
Great video. Just received my copy and can't wait to play. Only went for base version for some reason so hopefully there's a campaign in the future where I can upgrade! :P
I've seen in some of the live plays that the cult leader can somehow convert a player to the cult? Maybe via a cabin search? Is that still in the game?
Yes, the Cult Leader can convert other players into the Cult 😊 This happens the yellow navigation cards are played (these cards trigger random cult rituals - which can trigger a cult conversion) 🐙
I am pretty sure we will be able to get to do that! Maybe not straight away-but mid 2021 things could be going back to normal... My dream is to play the game on an actual boat (ship-inception) 🤣
I usually don't write youtube comments because I consider it a loss of time but I had to make an exception finding out that you are one of the designers of the game. How do you design a game and fail so miserably at explaining how to play the god damn game? Watched your video as a preparation to understand the game so I can play it at a friend's house and you've only raised more questions than you've answered. 1. You mention the captain at the beginning and leave us hanging by the end of the video answering how on earth does one become a Captain. 2. You mention revealing guns as a token of mutiny but fail to explain how many does each player get. Do all players get the same amount of guns? How on earth are the god damn guns distributed among players in the first place? 3. You explain a single role card and show the others hidden behind each other so we can struggle reading them in vain like hopeless children trying to learn how to read. 4. You show only 2 navigation cards instead of describing more of them so we can grasp the dynamic of the game and its possibilites. One has the Rum icon which means the captain is disputed. What about the other cards? Do they have their own other icons? Seeing this horrendous attempt of explaining has only demotivated me from playing the game, knowing that you've designed it. Had you focused more on how to explain the game instead of how to dress up as a pirate perhaps you would've done a better job.
You usually don't write RUclips comments because you think it's a waste of time huh? Do you also usually not read the rule book in the game box because it's a waste of time? How about playing board games at all? Seems like a pretty big waste of time yeah?
Thank you for your detailed feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, especially since you usually don't write comments. To give you some context: This video was created during development and BEFORE the game was released. It's goal was to give a short overview of the rules for play testers who joined our online events during the COVID pandemic. It was never designed as a standalone "how to play / don't read the rulebook" video. I have changed the video title to avoid confusion for future visitors.

How do you pick the starting captain??
Jono, this is a good question-and something I did not cover in the video. The first captain is selected randomly with help of the character cards!
Amazing approach. Thank you!

We don't have any upgrade options yet, but when offers on the Deluxe Version are available they will be in our Newsletter first!
Marvellous explanation. Quick and easy. Thank you!
Great job Captain
Yes capitán, we, your loyal crewmen, congratulate you!
Awesome video ... I've been waiting for this game for a very long time finally got my deluxe version today
It looks very interesting. I can't wait to "play" it next Thursday! :D
Basically Secret Hitler with knobs on
There was some stuff missing. :(
Who do you decide who is going to be the captain in the first place?
When you draw role cards at the beginning, one person will get the captain starting card and then choose a second, permanent, role card.

@@instabil6746 Ah, I see that now. Do all the players know who is converted?
No, it's executed during an eyes-closed action - and only the converted player (land the leader know what's happening!
You guys should definitely celebrate in the Caribbean once the kickstarter campaign is over! I think their borders are open to Europeans...🤔

This is awesome! ❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖
This is WOW
Looks interesting, only one thing is bad. Elimination of player is, bad… someone need to seat amd doing nothing….
If anyone is eliminated, it happens very late in the game.
thanks
