Great content, guys, among the best on board game youtube! Perfect chemistry, excellent visuals, love the video structure. Big fan of your channel.
You guys and this wonderful video are just as fantastic as Feed the Kraken!

I will buy it because of your review! Is there some link I can use so your channel also get ssome benefit from it?
We'll work on Affiliate links in the future, but you can support the creator by buying it from their homepage if possible -> funtails.de/en/produkt/feed-the-kraken-basic-edition-en/
Great time for the review. Hoping to play this for my birthday tonight
Did you manage to play it? And also, happy (if a little late) wishes in you birthday.
Y’all have really made me interested in this! As a huge fan of Blood on The Clocktower I can’t imagine this overtakes it, but I’m really excited to try it out now!
Same! I also love BOTC, but this looks so different because of the boardgame components
I’m looking forward to playing this, but I gotta say give The Thing (the new one) a try - it’s worth comparing!
Just bought it during black friday mainly due to this review! Looking forward to play it during christmas time with friends. Thanks guys
Thanks for watching and good choice ;)
Congrats on 10k subs! Keep it going!
Thank you! We appreciate the support
I need a holiday gift guide from you guys! 😄
In that case you'll love this week's video :D
This is our go to "end of night" game at our club. So we have been playing it every week at player counts up to about 10. I actively dislike most social deduction games but love this one.
We have not played it yet at 10 or 11 players, how is it?
@@BoardGameHangover Bit more chaotic but works great. Doesn't actually change the game much except you are less frequently involved in voyages.
I love Feed the Kraken. Definitely shout out to Secret Hitler as the lighter predecessor of this game.
Still have not played that one.
Sounds amazing but man it's difficult to commit the money in the hope that we get enough people together often enough to make it worthwhile. Great review as ever guys
Player count is the biggest issue. But if a group of you can chip in and buy it together it might be worth it and people might be more motivated to get it to the table
I don't like hidden role games and I would rather play Monopoly than Resistance Avalon, but this Kraken game was a blast! Finally a board game with hidden roles instead of just hidden roles with bs shouting and pointing fingers. My 2nd best game in this category is also your mentioned Deception: Murder in Hong Kong probably due to the same fact - it has actual board game elements.
But now reading the comments I am very intrigued by the new kid on the block - Blood on the Clocktower - which everyone else seems to have already met.
my favourite boardgame youtube guys!!
Keep this up and you might be one of ours as well ;)
Went and bought this basically because of this review ;)
This game is nuts! I want play it with my friends everyday!
I have a stupid question: When exactly, if ever, do the discussions happen? Like is there a dedicated time for it, or is it just in between? Or is there no discussion intended?
The discussion happens all the time. There's no set time for it so for us it basically never stopped because of JG :D
where can I buy this game though!?! I’ve been looking and I not a single website has it sadly, and ebay wants to charge 100$ for it 😢
I agree. Must have.
It really is!
I typically don't enjoy player elimination. But maybe it's not too bad in this one.
That was our worry as well, but it happens right at the end and it so fun to be the first to find out who is who. It's never like "I'm out... I guess I'll check my phone now" you're still invested in the game and you can still win the game
Let΄s watch it sailors!
I'm trying to figure out where I can buy this game in the US. I think my students would enjoy it. Google doesn't offer up purchase links. Anyone have a link?
Zulu Cafe for standard version. I’d buy deluxe from fun in Europe.
I dont like afk.I prefer that in games like this, any player cant be elimineted. Like in Raven Manor, player can be killed but he back as ghost
Yes, us as well. But what this game makes it fun. Like watching an improv (an amateur improv, but still).
Is this game similar to “Bang!”? Another hidden role game, obviously totally different themes.
Remotely. Bang is more mechanical and Kraken is more social.
This looks like fun, kind of Secret Hitler 2.0
that's a good comparison, yes!
7 people? Yeah, hard pass for me.
Even if we hadn't move to another country it would be hard if not impossible to have that many people.
That was the issue for us as well, not that easy to get 7. 5 is ok as well, but it's best with 7+
Have this on my list, it's just pretty overpriced at the moment. Cheapest deal is 53 € for the retail version without minis, and with these components, it looks to me like a 25 € game, maaybe 30 €. Will wait for a deal or otherwise skip it, since I rarely have 7+ people for a game night anyways.
The retail version is all you need as the gameplay sets it apart. Not so much the components ;)
Best social deduction game ever is Blood on the Clocktower. End of discussion. But I will listen to this opinion :D
But is it not a social experiment as well and not so much a board game, like Kraken is?
@@BoardGameHangover I would not call games like Blood On The Clocktower as Social Experiment, but I would concede that it is not necessarily a board (tabletop) game. Having watched Your review of Feed The Kraken I can see what You meant and I was a bit too quick with my comment :)
Feed the Kraken looks fantastic, it must be said, but getting at least five people or the optimal number seven for the game of this would be very difficult for me so this is a hard pass for me, but if I ever get a chance I will happily try this one out.
Great video yet again guys, keep them coming :)
