I really like what Rick said, "Accepting where you're at, but knowing where you want to go." I struggle with accepting where I'm at, because if I'm not where I THINK I should be at, then it's easy for me to dismiss all my improvement. By the way, I'm loving the podcasts, and you guys should definitely make them longer!
Thanks for the reminder Anna, as I felt today's run was the worst since I started running again two months ago. But need to remember that I'm better than I ever was before I started.
Being able to run safely. While I can't just lace up and go, have to prep a few hours ahead, the fact I can still run is a huge thing over what I thought I could do a fear years ago.
I think these are all things we need to be reminded of as runners. Definitely putting this in my favorites for those tough days. Thanks for putting this together. 😊
More of those days when you feel that running is effortless and you're almost flying - like you have to force your feet back to the ground rather than forcing them up off it! Had one of those runs this morning - those are the ones I live for. I push through the rest to get to them.
I’ve tried 3 times to get a sub 3:30 in a marathon and failed every time my fastest being 3:42:43 in 2017. Last weekend I ran the Manchester Marathon and came home in 3:24:04 a massive PB. Totally out of the blue. All the messages I received from club mates and friends and family tracking me made me very emotional. I was absolutely buzzing.
