The dark tone of this album is really neat. I think with Reverie Hall having it seem dreamlike gets turned on its head by the overall forboding nature of that track. And I remember you showing off Locrian Hell. I think in context with these other tracks it perfectly complements the general vibe of the whole thing. good stuff
These are so unique and full of personality. I'm thankful that RUclips recommended this to me. Keep up the incredible work and I can't wait to hear what else you publish!
Haha, thank you! These were originally for a game, so there was a common theme among them. You might have even caught some leitmotivs between the songs! My favorite one, and the one that I put the most attention to detail with, is #5 Locrian Hell. As the name implies, it dominantly uses the Locrian Mode, which is an off-harmonic mode. The original intention for the theme was to be used for enemies that were classified as demons.. so the goal was to make a demonic sounding, off-harmonic song. The locrian mode is special because it doesn't have a perfect 5th, unlike every other mode. The perfect fifth is what creates a harmonic sound. Locrian Hell is also the first ever song I ever incorporated an electric guitar into -- this may be a new trend with future covers / compositions?? If you have any questions with details, feel free to ask!
